The recent format changes to The X Factor are not going down well with most of the show's supporters, it has emerged.

According to a survey conducted by Yahoo!, more than 70% of fans who tuned in for the new series of the hit reality show this weekend were not impressed by the programme's revamp.

This year's show features live audiences during the Audition Rounds - a set-up similar to judge Simon Cowell's other UK TV franchise Britain's Got Talent.

Simon holds back too much and keeps hitting the table like there is a buzzer there

True. However, the format works with BGT, but not with x-factor.

X factor worked in the old way as I thought the whole point of the auditions with the 4 judges and no auidence was to reflect to the wanna be singers this is how an audition at a music company could be. Having a live auidence it just feels more like a TV show then a proper singing audition

Agreed. It feels too much like BGT. Simon holding his hand up to stop the audtionees just seemed wrong when there's usually a buzzer in front of him.

Also, I don't agree that the audtionees should be allowed to sing with backing music and instruments.

There was nothing wrong with the old format, I don't see why it was changed.

I thought with the old format it was to do with showing peoples singing voice naturally without musical arrangements.

Abbie

I think its unfair with the music cos not everyone does it with music, I thought in the orginal audtions the idea was to have no music so its fair to everyone and they can hear how good they really are

do you think they will change it back?

Bryan
05-09-2009, 15:28
i dont think they will, becuase then it's like admitting they did wrong, and i think Simon has too much pride to do that

Chris_2k11

nah I think they will change it back next year, its not like its just a few people that dont like it, nearly everyone doesnt!

It could stay like this as like someone said Simon has too much pride then to admit when he makes mistakes
