2626: Ste and Abi are unable to resist each other

Daniel starts to panic when Ste goes missing with Lucas. Meanwhile, Ste's worried that Abi may have told Daniel about their kiss. Daniel goes to find Ste, leaving Abi at home. He finds him in the village and has a go at him for staying out all night with Lucas. At first, Ste's anxious, but when it becomes clear that Daniel doesn't know about the kiss, he agrees to returns to the flat.
On their return, the atmosphere's a little tense. Ste mentions that he's sleeping better and Daniel becomes suspicious. He roots through Abi's bag to check the caffeine tablets that they have been doping Ste with. While Ste is out of earshot, Daniel tells Abi that he has to go and see the family who want to adopt Lucas.
Abi's unsure about being left alone with Ste and in her nervous state, she manages to cut her finger while preparing food. Ste rushes to help her and as they sit together on the sofa, they inevitably have to broach the awkward issue of their kiss.
Ste's relieved that Abi hasn't told Daniel, but he's shocked when she claims that her husband probably wouldn't care anyway. As they talk further, they can no longer resist each another and they end up sprawled on the sofa in a passionate embrace…
While Michaela frets about her love life, Malachy is more concerned about his financial situation. As Mercedes walks in with bags of shopping, Malachy reminds her that they can't afford new clothes. Mercedes lets him know that he can't tell her how to spend her money and he storms off, leaving the barbecue he was building for Myra unfinished.
Malachy goes to find Kris for a pint. In the meantime, Kris and the other lads have their own money worries. Kris is annoyed when Elliot phones to check up on the cash, but the lads panic, unable to help their own paranoia. After checking the safe, they find that everything's still in place.
At The Dog, Kris lets Malachy know he has money in the flat which can't be touched. Later, during a pub quiz at The Dog, Malachy sneaks off with Kris's keys. A suspicious Kris follows him, abandoning Archie to do the quiz alone. When Kris finds Malachy back at the flat, he's furious that his brother had planned to steal from him. Malachy slinks home with his tail between his legs. However, he and Mercedes manage to make up and end the day on good terms…
Elsewhere, Gilly tries to apologise to Steph for the piñata incident but ends up making things worse. As he approaches, Steph instinctively backs off, spilling Fernando's drink and ruining his Spanish newspaper. Hearing Fernando talk about football in Spain, Steph worries that he's missing his friends back home.
When Suzanne mentions a pub-quiz at The Dog, Steph sees a chance for Fernando and Gilly to bond. Gilly reluctantly agrees to join their team after some persuasion.
At the pub, Hannah and Suzanne go on about what a cute couple Fernando and Steph make, Gilly can barely hide his jealousy. During the quiz, Gilly becomes further wound up and embarrasses himself, while Fernando is on the ball.

It comes down to a tiebreaker question and Gilly manages to mess things up because he's too stubborn to listen to the others. As Ste prepares to go to work, he talks to Abi about their passionate embrace the previous night. Gilly does his best to put Fernando off Steph but inadvertently sets Fernando back onto Steph's scent. As Gilly prepares to give Steph her new shoes and announce his undying love to her, he's stunned to find Fernando on his knees at Steph's flat, adorning her with a shiny pair of new shoes.
Malachy finds Kris in the village and attempts to apologise to him for trying to steal the money from the lads' flat the previous night. Kris, however, isn't interested. Malachy catches up with his brother again in the village as he and Zak look to put their new business plan in action but Kris is unrelenting.
Malachy resolves to mend the rift and uses the last of his cash to book the council hall for Kris and Zak's new aerobics class. Aware that Malachy's flat broke, Kris is genuinely touched and the lads go for a pint, reconciled at last.

Things don't go well for Zak, so he and Kris devise a plan to rip people of - they decide to launch an aerobics class using computer-altered 'before' and 'after' photos of them looking obese and skinny.
Michaela finally tracks down Zak to the call centre and demands cash off him to organise a commitment ceremony for them outside The Dog. Zak arrives for the commitment ceremony and he can't believe it when Michaela decides to perform her vows through the power of song. Kris and Malachy, meanwhile, have witness the whole thing.

Daniel's stepped up the Ste's drugging in an attempt to force him to hand over Lucas to his new adoptive parents the following day. Abi's angry when she sees the state Ste's in but Daniel has no time for her after discovering that she slept with Ste. Daniel takes great pleasure in telling his wife that she's going to lose Lucas for good.
The effects of the increased drug dose start to affect Ste as he's struggling to cope with the pressure of raising Lucas alone. Abi's desperate to do anything to keep Lucas and, knowing time's running out, she asks Ste to run away with them. Ste's shocked when she reveals that she's told Daniel they slept together. However, Ste admits that he really wants Amy and, unable to deal with it, he rushes off.
Later, Ste's pushed to the limit when Lucas won't stop crying and he's on the verge of shaking him when Daniel arrives and stops him. Daniel's confident that he'll be able to persuade Ste to give Lucas up as he presses home what a bad father he is. Ste feels pressurised and lashes out, before talked into a decision he doesn't want to make.
Wanting the best for Lucas, though, a heartbroken Ste agrees to let Daniel take him, leaving a devastated Abi powerless to do anything about it.
Josh is looking forward to getting away from Hollyoaks and starting his new course in London but he's anxious about his A-Level results that are released the following day. Neville has high hopes for his son and with Rhys constantly winding him up about failing because he bunked one of his exams, the pressure starts to mount.
Frustrated that nobody understands what he's going through, Josh spends the day with Michaela and they take great delight in burning their school books as they plan their dream futures. Michaela's excited about starting university but like Josh, she's secretly nervous about her results. The following morning, Josh's worst fears are confirmed - he hasn't made the grades for King's College, London.
Meanwhile, with a little help from Hannah, Darren persuades Neville to give him the day off work the following day to celebrate his birthday. But it suddenly dawns on him that he has no friends or family to celebrate with. He's more upset than he's letting on about how little anyone cares, especially when Hannah assumes that he'll be spending it with his real family and Steph's oblivious to the day's significance.
Feeling sorry for him, Hannah arranges a surprise birthday party in The Dog. Darren's spirits are lifted when a guilty Steph tells him that they'll do something together, but she's secretly hoping to reunite him with Jack.
Steph's having doubts about her relationship with Fernando and in her ability to be a good girlfriend. Concerned, she starts to back off but Fernando's a little confused by her sudden change of heart. Steph's unable to resist his charms for long, though, and they go on a picnic.

Planning to sell a placebo called Horny Goat Weed as part of the enterprise, Kris and Zak wangle Elliot's assistance in testing the pills to ensure that they're safe.
Still upset over his father's lies and subsequent departure, Elliot starts drinking while Zak and Kris begin selling their dodgy pills to the likes of Myra. A drunken Elliot then derails the scheme by announcing that the pills are useless, yet Kris and Zak are sympathetic to Elliot's situation anyway.
Elliot's left alone with the remaining pills, a combination which arouses the suspicions of a passing policeman. Elliot runs, before lashing out at the policeman in the process…
