Tony Gordon like Richard Hillman was only intended to be in Corrie for a short time but both characters were such a hit with the viewers that the producers kept them on. It left them with a few difficulties. Unlike that other well known soap Corrie characters usually are seen paying for their crimes so the producers are left with a problem as to how long to keep them before they get their just desserts

i've warmed to Tony now, it will be a shame to see him go. like this storyline of him getting close to Maria and baby Liam

Tony is going to be around for another bit - i think the actor who plays Tony has signed a new longer contract

Tony has only had one person killed so far so he a bit to go to be like Richard

Tony is a lot more human than Richard Hillman ever was. We see his regret and pain and there just seems to be a lot more depth to him.

Oh, so the fact that Tony got someone else to murder Liam isn't the same thing.

No, actually you are right. It is far more cowardly and makes him even worse than Richard Hillman.

Tony appears to be a character who doesn't want to get his hands dirty- eventhough he attempted to strangle Jed Stone he didn't have it in him to finish the job!

Richard was in a league of his own he was so deranged Tony in some ways I love him but he never gets his hands dirty he has to enlist help. Unlike Richard who did all the dirty work on his own
