Home and Away favourite Todd Lasance will be leaving the long-running soapie after signing with an agency in Los Angeles.

Channel 7 yesterday confirmed Lasance, who plays Aden Jefferies in the series, will finish filming at the end of the year.

Lasance is one of the most loved actors in Home and Away, this year taking out the most popular actor silver Logie against a talented group of actors including Neighbours star Ian Smith and Packed to the Rafters star Erik Thomson.

Fans needn't panic yet. With Lasance filming until the end of the year, his character will be seen on air well into early next year.

I think after Belles death Aden will feel he cant stay in the bay anymore, everywhere he turns he will be reminded of her, he will need to move to be able to move on with his life

Aussie soap star Todd Lasance has revealed that he wants a successful Hollywood career.

The 24-year-old actor, who plays Aden Jefferies in Home and Away, has apparently been taping auditions for Hollywood films and television shows over the past two months.

Lasance told The Daily Telegraph: "Failure is not an option. I'm willing to put in 20 years over there if I have to because this is what I want to do.''

I've never heard of anyone wanting an unsuccessful career, Hollywood or otherwise!!! :hmm:

Seriously, though, I like Todd and hope he is successful.

Some of you may have seen this report in the Daily Telegraph on Saturday.

''For eight weeks Todd Lasance has been juggling his Home And Away commitments with taping auditions locally for film and TV projects in Hollywood.

That's because the Logie-winner will finish on the long-running soap, following many of the show's alumni to Hollywood, on January 15.

He wants to hit the big time.

"Failure is not an option," the 24-year-old told Confidential.

"I'm willing to put in 20 years over there if I have to because this is what I want to do."

He hopes to emulate former HAA star Chris Hemsworth, who starred in the latest Star Trek film. ''

We can also reveal that Todd will be making the journey with two of his best friends, Mark Furze and Jessica Tovey! Whilst it's sad that so much talent is leaving our shores, we wish them well and you can guarantee they will have an amazing time together.

Todd Lasance has admitted that he was relieved when he learned that he would not be killed off in Home and Away.

The actor's character Aden Jefferies will leave Summer Bay for pastures new next month after more than two years as a show regular.

In real life, Lasance decided to quit the soap last year in order to pursue a Hollywood career.

Speaking to TV Week about Aden's fate, Lasance commented: "I like that it's a realisation of Aden's potential. I didn't want him to be killed off. Having already lost [his girlfriend] Belle, killing off Aden would have been too much of a loss."

Asked whether he will ever return to the programme, he replied: "There are no plans - but who knows? I'd be up for a little drop-in to see what Aden's up to at some point.

"I'll always have the absolute highest regard for the time I spent on the show. I loved every single day. It's been an amazing stepping stone towards - hopefully - success on other projects and in the US one day. I love acting. I want to do it for the rest of my life."
