I hope Stephen Fry is the white rabbit and Helena is the Queen.

I've seen a non-cartoon version of Alice and didn't think much to it.

Disney is reportedly tightening the US cinema release window for its upcoming film Alice.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Alice will run in US cinemas for just under 13 weeks. A traditional first-run release is up to 16 weeks. The film is also getting a shorter run in the UK.

It is thought that Disney is shortening the movie's theatrical run in order to release it earlier on DVD, Blu-ray and Video on Demand.

The shortened Alice theatre distribution schedule apparently marks the start of Disney's plan to experiment with shorter runs for other pictures.

Alice, directed by Tim Burton, opens in the US March 5 in 3D and 2D venues.

Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland has broken UK box office records on its first weekend on release.

The Lewis Carroll-inspired movie's £10 million haul is the highest ever debut for a 3D movie in the UK and the biggest opening of Burton's career. The fantasy tale surpasses Avatar's £8.5 million gross from last year and also breaks the record for the biggest March bow, besting Mr Bean's Holiday's £6.4m from 2007.

Avatar, The Crazies, The Lovely Bones and The Princess And The Frog complete this week's top five, while From Paris With Love climbs two places to reach number six.

Elsewhere, new horror releases Legion and Case 39 fail to make an impression, with both movies landing outside the top ten.

The UK box office top ten in full:

1. (-) Alice In Wonderland - £10,555,220
2. (1) Avatar - £908,049
3. (3) The Crazies - £673,551
4. (2) The Lovely Bones - £661,595
5. (4) The Princess And The Frog - £381,760
6. (8) From Paris With Love - £374,620
7. (5) Percy Jackson And The Lightning Thief - £369,938
8. (7) Leap Year - £364,875
9. (6) Valentine's Day - £296,561
10. (9) A Single Man - £219,243
