Joe (Reece Dinsdale) is desperately in need of painkillers but Gail (Helen Worth) is oblivious as she wonders what’s happened to the new packet of paracetamol she bought. Joe waits until she’s gone then pulls them from his pocket and downs a couple but it is clear they aren’t enough and Joe begs the doctor for a painkiller prescription but she refuses saying he needs to make an appointment. Gail’s shocked as a furious Joe storms out of the medical centre.
Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) goes to visit John and lies about her engagement ring saying she’s dropped it into the jewellers to have the size altered. Meanwhile Chesney (Sam Aston) offers to clean Rosie’s car for her, secretly hoping to look for the ring but Rosie (Helen Flanagan) insists she cleans it herself. When she finds Fiz’s ring in her car she gives it to Sally (Sally Whittaker) as a present pretending she bought it unaware of the identity of its rightful owner. Sally’s thrilled and as she shows it off to the factory girls a stunned Fiz recognises it as hers and while Sally’s distracted, Fiz takes it from her handbag. How will Sally react when she discovers it is missing?
An excited Becky (Katherine Kelly) and Hayley (Julie Hesmondhalgh) go shopping for a wedding dress but Becky takes offence at the snooty assistant in the shop and they return empty-handed.
Elsewhere Michelle (Kym Marsh) arrives home on a break from her tour and Jason (Ryan Thomas) has a meeting with his bank manager and is thrilled when he gets the go ahead for a mortgage.

Gail (Helen Worth) wants to know why Joe (Reece Dinsdale) caused a scene in the medical centre, Joe tries to play it down but Gail’s secretly worried. Meanwhile David (Jack P Shepherd) continues to taunt Joe telling him he’ll get his pills if he can persuade Tina (Michelle Keegan) to get back with him. Joe’s at the end of his tether and begs a bemused Tina to give David another chance. Tina thinks he’s mad and wonders what’s the matter with him.
Sally (Sally Whittaker) is distraught over the loss of her ring as Tony (Gray O’Brien) searches the girls’ lockers. He finds the ring in Fiz’s locker and a furious Sally demands they call the police. Julie (Katy Cavanagh) can’t bear to watch Fiz (Jenie McAlpine) being wrongly accused and announces to Tony and the stunned factory girls that the ring belongs to Fiz as she’s engaged to John Stape. Back at home Fiz confronts Chesney (Sam Aston) with the ring and accuses him of stealing Rosie’s car. Chesney admits it was him says he doesn’t give a stuff as he’s furious with Fiz for keeping her engagement a secret from him. Sally tells Fiz they’ve worked out that Chesney stole Rosie’s car and they’re going to report him to the police. What can Fiz do to protect Chesney?
Seeing she is upset Steve (Simon Gregson) takes Becky (Katherine Kelly) back to the wedding dress shop and buys her the dress of her dreams. Becky can hardly contain her excitement as the big day draws nearer.
Elsewhere Bill (Peter Armitage) lets Jesse (John Thomson) store his cowboy props at the yard after Jesse tells Bill he’s an electrician by trade and suggests they could work together.

Sally (Sally Whiattaker) berates Rosie (Helen Flanagan) for giving her a ring that wasn’t hers to give but Rosie’s unrepentant and starts to phone the police to report Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) until Kevin (Michael Le Vell) stops her. Not believing Fiz’s story that it was her who stole the car Kevin calls to see her and gets her to admit the truth about Chesney’s (Sam Aston) involvement.
Joe (Reece Dinsdale) meets up with Len (Conor Ryan) and the project manager at the flats. The project manager tells him he’s unreliable and clearly unfit to work immediately firing Joe from the job. Gail (Helen Worth) comes home from work and finds Joe at home in a state visibly shaking as he explains he’s lost his job. While Gail’s back is turned, Joe steals the keys to the medical centre from her handbag and disappears. What is Joe planning to do?
Jesse (John Thomson) asks Sean (Antony Cotton) for advice on how to deal with his forceful mother. Sean gets the wrong end of the stick and thinks Jesse’s trying to tell him he’s gay meanwhile Julie (Katy Cavanagh) overhears Jesse and Sean’s conversation and is shocked also wrongly assuming that Jesse is gay.
Elsewhere Jason (Ryan Thomas), Tina (Michelle Keegan) and Eileen (Sue Cleaver) set off for the auction of the flat over the Kabin.
Luke (Craig Kelly) chats up Michelle (Kym Marsh) and makes it clear his relationship with Rosie (Helen Flanagan) isn’t serious. However Rosie is quick to break up their cosy chat and lay claim to her man!

Kevin (Michael Le Vell) decides a tough approach is necessary and quizzes Chesney (Sam Aston) about nicking Rosie’s car and frogmarches him round to No.4. Chesney apologises to Sally (Sally Whittaker) and explains how he hates John and his plan was to drive to the prison, give him the ring back and punch him.
A jealous Rosie (Helen Flanagan) wants to know what Michelle’s got that she hasn’t, amused by her petulance Luke (Craig Kelly) fails to take Rosie seriously and she leaves the Rovers in a huff. Luke bumps into Michelle (Kym Marsh) and is delighted when she invites him back to No.7.
Gail (Helen Worth) searches frantically for Joe (Reece Dinsdale) and asks Audrey (Sue Nicholls) if she’s seen him unaware of the desperate measures Joe has stooped to…
Over at the medical centre Joe has used Gail’s keys to get in but hasn’t factored in the alarm being set. He’s in a terrible state and sweating profusely as he takes a sledgehammer to the alarm. But still the noise continues and Joe smashes up the pharmacy in a desperate search for his drugs.
Meanwhile back at the house Gail realises the medical centre alarm is going off. And, when she discovers her medical centre keys are gone from her handbag, she rushes to down the street with a sense of foreboding towards the doctors where she finds a tearful and trembling Joe. She’s devastated as she surveys the damage he’s caused.
Elsewhere Jason (Ryan Thomas) and Tina (Michelle Keegan) buy No.12 at auction at a cost of £54,750.

With Gail (Helen Worth) watching on in horror Joe (Reece Dinsdale) starts battering the drugs cabinet with a crowbar. She tries in vain to stop him as the police arrive and Joe is handcuffed and arrested. Tina’s (Michelle Keegan) devastated to see her dad being taken away by the police as Gail painfully faces up to the truth, that Joe’s addicted to painkillers and he’s now on drugs to help with the withdrawal symptoms. Meanwhile a scheming David (Jack P Shepherd) lies to Audrey (Sue Nicholls) telling her how he knew about Joe’s drug addiction and did all he could to help him kick the habit.
Tony’s (Gray O’Brien) delighted when Maria phones and says she’ll be home tomorrow. He tells Michelle (Kym Marsh) he’ll do a shop in readiness for Maria and the baby’s return but she stunned when he tells her it’s time she found somewhere else to live. Michelle can’t believe Tony’s cheek – it isn’t even his house!
It’s clear Chesney’s upset about Fiz (Jennie McAlpine). Anna (Debbie Rush) and Eddie (Steve Huison) take him back to No.6. Anna tries to mediate between Chesney (Sam Aston) and Fiz but Chesney’s adamant he’s not going back to No.5. A concerned and compassionate Anna tells him he can spend the night with them.
Elsewhere Rosie (Helen Flanagan) spots Luke (Craig Kelly) and Michelle (Kym Marsh) coming out of No.7. She’s furious and goes to punch Michelle but misses and punches Luke instead!
