Melanie C 'plotting pop comeback'

Melanie C has reportedly started working on her fifth solo album.

The former Spice Girl gave birth to daughter Scarlet in February and has since returned to the studio.

She admitted that she was eager to record an upbeat LP, telling The Mirror: "I'm a rock girl, it'll be big rock numbers!"

Despite her 2007 record This Time peaking at number 57 in the UK, the singer has enjoyed widespread success across Europe.

Former bandmate Emma Bunton recently revealed that she is considering working on some new solo material.

Mel C was the better singer out of all the spice girls but I don't think her comeback will be successful enough. I think her time is up in the music business.
