MICHELLE Keegan led a parade of lovelies from the world of soap at an awards bash launch last night.
The Corrie babe turned heads in a bright blue dress teamed with big, dramatic hair.

The actress, who plays Tina McIntyre in the soap, is nominated in the Sexiest Female category at the Inside Soap Awards, which will take place in September.

She said: "It's very flattering, but I think there are far sexier actresses out there than me... I just go to Tesco in my pyjamas, I've done that since day one, even before I had the job, and I still do that now."

Michelle joined a host of well-known faces from Coronation Street, Hollyoaks and Emmerdale to hear the nominations.

Corrie's Kym Marsh, nominated for Best Actress, arrived at the reception with her partner Jamie Lomas, nominated for Best Actor and Best Bad Boy for his portrayal of villain Warren Fox in Hollyoaks.

Kym said the nomination news had been "really nice" after a hard year in which the couple's baby son Archie Jay died after he was born 18 weeks premature.

She explained: "We've had a really tough year, but it's been really good for us because we've got some great friends and work colleagues.

"The Coronation Street cast has been fantastic, so I'm very lucky to have had them around me. I'm glad to be back at work with my friends."

Despite receiving nominations in all the major categories, EastEnders stars were notably absent from the launch in Manchester, with organisers blaming demanding filming schedules.

BBC soap EastEnders leads this year's Inside Soap Awards shortlist.

The Walford serial has racked up 19 out of the possible 52 nominations across the 13 eligible categories. Lacey Turner (Stacey Slater) is in the running to land the best actress award for the fourth year in a row but faces competition from co-star Patsy Palmer (Bianca Jackson).

Scott Maslen (Jack Branning) and Larry Lamb (Archie Mitchell) hope to take home the best actor and best bad boy award respectively.

Ex-Ender Lauren Crace - who played the show's now-dead Dannielle Jones - could win her second best newcomer award in a month, despite having disappeared from screens in April.

Meanwhile, ITV soap Coronation Street has 17, including Helen Flanagan's (Rosie Webster) nomination for best bitch and the Barlows's nod for best family.

Katherine Kelly (Becky McDonald) hopes to score another best actress award, while Gray O'Brien could walk away from the ceremony as this year's best bad boy for his portrayal as murderous entrepreneur Tony Gordon.

Hollyoaks notched up 10 nominations, with former screen lovers Chris Fountain (Justin Burton) and Emma Rigby (Hannah Ashworth) in the running for best actor and actress. Hollie-Jay Bowes (Michaela McQueen) could receive the gong for funniest performance.

Emmerdale secured the lowest number of shortlisted nominations with six in total, including Jeff Hordley (Cain Dingle) and Nicola Wheeler (Nicola De Souza) for bad boy and bitch and Sammy Winward (Katie Sugden) for sexiest female.

All four main UK soaps along with Neighbours and Home and Away are in the running for best soap, while The Bill, Casualty, Holby City and Doctors are nominated for best drama.

The 14th annual Inside Soap Awards take place on Monday at Sketch in London's West End.

BBC soap EastEnders took home half the prizes at this year's Inside Soap Awards, including the night's most prestigious award for best soap.

The Walford-based serial, which retained the top accolade for the second year running, tallied seven trophies compared to Coronation Street's five. Hollyoaks managed only one, while Emmerdale walked away empty-handed.

EastEnders' Lacey Turner (Stacey Slater) took home the best actress award for the fourth year in a row, while Charlie Brooks (Janine Butcher) and Larry Lamb (Archie Mitchell) were crowned best bitch and bad boy. Archie's torment and Daniella's death was named best storyline.

Former Albert Square actress Kara Tointon (Dawn Swann) topped the best-dressed vote and John Partridge (Christian Clarke) was handed the gong for sexiest male.

Coronation Street's Gray O'Brien (Tony Gordon) headed up the ITV soap's winning lineup as he pipped co-star Simon Gregson (Steve McDonald) to the best actor trophy. Michelle Keegan (Tina McIntyre) picked up this year's sexiest female statue.

Craig Gazey - who plays Weatherfield butcher Graeme Proctor - had his second soap award win of the year, lifting another best newcomer gong and Maggie Jones (Blanche Hunt) nabbed the funniest performance title from last year's Walford winner Cheryl Fergison (Heather Trott).

Corrie's final award was handed to Alex Bain for his portrayal of Peter Barlow's (Chris Gascoyne) son Simon.

Hollyoaks' only prize of the night was handed to the McQueens for best family.

ITV police drama The Bill, meanwhile, bagged the best drama award for the fourth consecutive year.

This year's awards ceremony was held at Sketch in London's West End.

Why do they never include Emmerdale in these awards, not even for any nominations? They have good characters and storylines, the same as the other soaps. :searchme:

Inside Soap is and always will be an EE biased magazine. The people who vote still think Emmerdale is a programme about farming life unlike the Racy soap that it really is

Last night, stars from Coronation Street, EastEnders, Emmerdale and Hollyoaks turned out in their droves for the 14th annual Inside Soap Awards, held at Sketch in London's West End.

The Big Brother-esque nightclub threw open its doors for the first time to the reader-voted ceremony. This year, the awards adopted a new format in that they were hosted by the magazine's editor Steven Murphy while various guests - including Strictly's Camilla Dallerup, Larry Lamb's son George and former EastEnders actress Brooke Kinsella - presented the trophies.

Just to shatter the illusion, the winners already knew they'd won before the ceremony began as they posed for the paparazzi and media with the actual awards!

On arrival, DS production manager Chris Allen nearly went into meltdown due to poor lighting conditions in the room and my panic soon ensued when the arrivals began. The red carpet interviews were mental as usual but we managed to can some great videos - although the side of my face and ear apparently play a large part in them. Unintentional, of course. Blame space restrictions.

Keep checking back across the day for new video interviews as well as footage of the acceptance speeches.

The toilets at the venue were certainly intriguing. They were eggs. I kid you not. On the mezzanine above the bar, there stood a fleet of EggLoos (thanks, Chris). It looked like something out of a sci-fi film but they just weren't harbouring some alien foetus.

The arrivals drew to a close and the awards began, with all the winners - apart from Corrie's Gray O'Brien and Maggie Jones, who appeared on a VT - collecting their trophies and making brief speeches. Fourteen awards later and the party began and rumbled on into the early hours.

So what's the goss from the night? Well...

§ Graeme gets a new girl in Coronation Street. And I was quite taken aback by her identity...
§ Lauren Crace joked that the producers of EastEnders could draft her back for a background in the 25th anniversary episode.
§ EastEnders' Dr Al somehow ends up in a love triangle with Roxy and Chelsea.
§ Corrie's Craig Gazey was accosted by an ongoing gaggle of female fans.
§ Coronation Street's Jennie McAlpine doesn't like her character's new surname. She wants to #BringBackBrown.
§ Emmerdale recently filmed a massive stunt which apparently looks amazing. And one character's life is in jeopardy. Very reminiscent of a Corrie storyline, though...
§ Nina Wadia is officially a legend. And she has a master key for everyone's dressing rooms.
§ Johnny Dixon (Darryl Morton) recently finished filming with Coronation Street. But the door's been left open for him to potentially return.
§ EastEnders is about to heat up big time...

I didn't vote for The Bill this year and going by recent episodes, I don't think they deserved to win. I hope next year we will have a different winner for the category.

If the Bill continues the way its going it wont even be on our screens next year. We could of course be voting for the Max Carter Show which seems to have replace the show formerly known as The Bill

Could Carter and Manson become the new Morecambe and Wise?

Laurel and Hardy more like. Honestly Max Carter is so full of himself he even makes Samantha Smug look like a good tracker

Gray O'Brien walked off with the best actor gong at the Inside Soap awards last night.

Glasgow-born Gray, 41, won for his role as Coronation Street's calculating killer Tony Gordon.

But the night belonged to EastEnders, which took the best soap title. And the London show won seven gongs compared with Corrie's five.

Their haul included best actress for Lacey Turner, who plays Stacey Slater, and sexiest male for John Partridge - hunky Christian Clarke.

Albert Square veteran Charlie Brooks won the award for best bitch for her portrayal of Janine Butcher. Larry Lamb won best bad boy for his role as Archie Mitchell.

Kara Tointon - Dawn Swann - won best-dressed soap star and Corrie's Michelle Keegan - Tina McIntyre - won sexiest female.

Corrie's Alex Bain won best young actor for his role as Simon Barlow.

And readers of the magazine voted The Bill best drama for the fourth year running.

sexiest male for John Partridge - hunky Christian Clarke :cheer:
