They are desperate to give Glastonbury a performance to remember... but Black Eyed Peas’ backstage demands won’t be forgotten in a hurry.
There’s no danger of the band twiddling their thumbs before their performance... they’ll probably be twiddling a few knobs instead.
They have asked for a tour bus with tens of thousands of pounds worth of recording equipment laid on so they can remix and make new tracks if they get bored.
And, in true Glasto fashion, they have asked for it to be stocked with an ocean of booze – including a selection of local West Country ciders – and tons of festival food.
The band will be arriving for their performance on Sunday in true style. After flying into London on a private jet from France, Fergie, Will.I.Am, Apl and Taboo will then be transported by helicopter to the gig. A source said: “The band are
so excited about performing at
Glastonbury. They love to be able to remix and make new tracks wherever they go so they have demanded they have a mini-studio on their bus to capture the moment.
“They really want to get into the UK festival spirit and have asked for traditional cider and a gourmet selection of festival-style food such as fancy falafel, speciality burgers and Mr Whippy ice-cream.
“But Fergie still wants to keep up her healthy diet while on the road so there will also be huge fresh salads, skinless free-range chicken, sun-blush tomatoes and giant platters of vegetable crudites.”
Sounds yummy. However, it’s not all good news for the band – the poor weather forecast means Fergie needs some spare (luxury) footwear.
“She has been warned that by Sunday the ground could be exceptionally muddy,” we’re told.
“So she will be getting some specially designed blinging wellies from Hunter and a golf buggy just in case her high-heels don’t make it through the muck to the stage.”
As for the show itself, it promises to be an absolute stonker.
An insider told us: “They have been planning something special for months.” Well if their rider is anything to go by...
