View Full Version : How long do you spend using your PC a week?
I know we've had a thread about how long you spend on here as in soapboards a week
But how long do you spend on on your computer a week?

I feel like I spend all day on mine due to working 9-5 and then when I finish work I am online online checking my emails as I can't log onto personal websites while at work :(

Me too!
I probably spend about six hours online each day. Far too much time.

I'm on here far too much, altogether I spend about 6 hours on my laptop each day on average!
Not as bad as my friend though - he is into the World of Warcraft gaming thing and he usually spends about 8-10 hours on his laptop, then takes a "Power nap" of two hours, then is back gaming again.

Does he not have anything better to do with his life? That's like an addiction

Well he does come out with us every now and again - not as often as he used to though. All his friends are into gaming as well. They usually have LAN (Local Area Network) parties which involve them all gaming in one room, with energy drinks keeping them going.
He does seem to be quite addicted :o .. but then I'm addicted to discussion forums and Facebook etc so I don't think I'm any better!
LAN parties  Not heard that one before.

I like most on here spend too much time on the computer, I use one at work as it's part of my job but I'm on it a lot a home, mainly because I don't get out much at weekends so it's my way of meeting and chating with friends. I have heard of LAN parties Davey my sister and her ex went to a couple I think they were near Ascot racing she went down there over the bank holiday in August a couple of times were there are about five hundred people all with their comps and servers playing on-line 24 hours a day non-stop.
I am on the computer at work for 8 hours and then on the laptop when I am home for a short while, checking emails and eBay status which can't do at work but because of housework and watching tv my time on the laptop tends to be short, OH also uses laptop at times.

also, i just wanna add, i love the options for the poll, the highest one being 9 - 12hrs, i could easily do that in a day never mind a week!
i remember my two housemates were having a competition of who can builed the best city on sim city and they were on it for about 12 hours with about one break. They were so funny the next day as they could hardly see straight.
I am like most of you and spend way too much time. I am on here, or facebook, or skysports, or checking my emails. And then at uni i need it to look up journals, and my work.
Haha not one person has said they don't spend too long on the computer yet. I'm not as bad as I used to be but still bad. And I will probably get a lot worse over the summer lol

I guess this is because most of us either use the pc/laptop for work or school research, so don't feel guilty about it and just some time for a bit of fun. :cheer:
I'm partly on so much because of Soapboards and another message board. Posting on here, then looking at the other one and surfing for other news.
Then there's facebook :D:D If I could buy shares in facebook then I would.
I like how we've all gone for the last option :D
 lol yeah! Im not surprised we all spend too much time on computers

lol! though i suppose 12hrs a week isnt long if you use your computer for work (which i do when i actually get round to doing work!), then obviously you need to check posts on here, emails, facebook etc lol!
I am on my laptop 8 hours a day at work and about 6 - 8 hours over the weekend.. yeah I know I should be working but I spend more time chatting here than doing actually work :lol:

I'm just constantly on the internet, though if my friends go out.. I won't hesitate to go out. Soapboards and Facebook and chatting to my friends is just so much more appealing than tidying my room...
