View Full Version : McCarthy sticking with 'Hollyoaks'

Hollyoaks actor Gerard McCarthy has confirmed that he is staying with the Channel 4 soap until at least next year.

Reports previously claimed that the 28-year-old, who plays bisexual cross dresser Kris Fisher in the teen soap, was to quit his role towards the end of the year.

However, McCarthy has confirmed that he has recently signed a new contract that ties him to the show until at least 2010.

He said: "I love my character Kris Fisher. He is so 'out there', in your face and ready to shock at every turn. Every day he creates a new drama so who knows what the unconventional Kris will trigger in 2010."

McCarthy has also been cleared by Hollyoaks series producer Lucy Allan to take a short break from filming with the Chester serial in order to appear in The Louis Vuitton Bag, a modern-day film adaptation of Oscar Wilde's Lady Windermere's Fan.

Speaking of his part, he added: "I'm delighted to be on board. The Louis Vuitton Bag is a sexy, modern, contemporary look at an Oscar Wilde classic."

He seems like he will be fine next week, I agree he has become annoying in the past few months, especially with the love triangle, I enjoyed him when Jessica was there I loved their banter.

yeh i liked him with jess as well. i never really liked her that much to start with and only really started to like her just before she left!

I never really liked Jess that much, but I loved her comebacks with Kris.

How did Jess leave?, was it that stupid storyline of her stealing Darrens money, if it was it wasn't much of an exit.

agree he has become annoying in the past few months, especially with the love triangle, I enjoyed him when Jessica was there I loved their banter.

I agree I use to like his character, with Jess, he was more witty, and enjoyable to watch. Now, I for the most part find him plain annoying.

I really liked Jess's character, i wish she hadn't left.

yeh when she left i didnt want her to leave cos she was getting quite good
