JINXED Corrie bride Becky Granger spends her wedding night sobbing alone in a police cell when she is arrested for drug dealing.

The Rovers barmaid has been desperate to marry serial divorcee Steve McDonald since their first wedding was called off in April after she passed out drunk.

It’s almost second-time lucky for Becky when she makes it through the ceremony and finally gets Steve’s ring on her finger.

But the reception ends in disaster for the ex-bad girl as she is fitted up for a crime she hasn’t committed.

Bent copper Hooch is out for revenge after their paths crossed years ago when he arrested her for shoplifting. Becky later reported him to his superiors for asking her to perform a sex act on him.

Hooch has since been convinced she ruined his career. His resentment deepened when Steve got her off trumped-up charges last year by giving her a false alibi. Now, as wedding guests toast the happy couple back at the Rovers, the police burst in and raid the joint for drugs.

Hooch blackmails Becky’s old pal Slug to plant cocaine and cash in her bag. Cops find it and nick her.

Before locking her up for on her wedding night, Hooch tells her: “This is payback time, you slut. You and your big mouth have been a blot on my career all my working life.

“Today’s a big day for both of us but only I’m celebrating. You’re going down this time and I’ll make sure they throw away the key.”

The August episode ends with Becky crying alone in a cell wearing a stained wedding dress.

According to an earlier thread you posted from The Sun

Liz’s ex-husband Jim (Charles Lawson) is due to make a show-stopping return this Christmas for son Steve’s wedding to Becky Granger. Let’s hope Liz doesn’t say adiós.

Is there a THIRD wedding

Former Coronation Street regulars Charlie Lawson and Nicholas Cochrane are to return to Weatherfield for a "big old McDonald wedding", Digital Spy can exclusively reveal.

The duo, who play father and son Jim and Andy McDonald (below), return to filming at Manchester's Granada Studios later this month for their son and twin brother Steve's (Simon Gregson) second wedding to loudmouth barmaid Becky Granger (Katherine Kelly).

Speaking to DS, the soap's producer Kim Crowther said: "Lloyd [Mullaney] plays quite a major part in Steve's next wedding when Jim McDonald makes a reappearance. The thing that Jim gets embroiled in isn't what you'd expect, though."

She continued: "Lloyd manages to cause a rumpus at the nuptials without it all panning out as you'd think - considering Lloyd's going out with Liz, that is. Jim - and actually Andy, too - reappear, so it'll be a big old McDonald wedding."

A Corrie source added: "It's a lovely McDonald family reunion but as with all soap weddings, there's an extremely dramatic ending to the day."

Earlier this year, Steve and Becky's first wedding didn't go to plan when the blushing bride turned up at the register office in an inebriated state. The registrar subsequently refused to marry them.

Lawson briefly reprised his role as Jim at the end of 2007 for his former screen wife Liz's (Bev Callard) sham wedding to Vernon (Ian Reddington).

Cochrane, meanwhile, was last seen on the cobbles as Andy on February 20, 2004, when he left for a new life in Spain after serving as a witness at his brother's second marriage to Karen McDonald (Suranne Jones). Andy has since been cited in several scripts but has remained unseen.

Steve and Becky's "bigger and better" second nuptials are due to air in mid-August.

So he is back in August, perhaps again for a Christmas wedding if this one in August is not happening/legal or they repeat the ceremony without Becky ending up in a prison cell for the wedding night. :)
