Fox is reportedly developing a new arranged marriage reality series, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

In the series, titled I Married A Stranger, the brides-to-be don't meet their husbands until they exchange vows.

The show will see a woman, who is frustrated with the dating scene, agree to marry a man she has never met. Her friends and family will then be shown selecting a spouse for her from six eligible suitors.

The men will be eliminated one by one until two candidates remain. Both finalists walk down the aisle, but only one makes it to the altar to reveal himself to his new wife.

"She never meets him until the actual moment when they say 'I do'," a source close to the project said. "It’s like the big scene that comes after an entire season of The Bachelor, only this is in every episode."

Fox has apparently shot a pilot for the project, which is said to be in strong contention for a series order.

Oh this is soooo wrong, IMO. Pick a fella for her to gooo on a date with, but someone to marry???! It makes a total mockery of marriage. Is there anything they wont make into a 'reality' tv prog these days???!

Well if the USA are doing it. It won't be long before one of the channels over here snap's up the idea. Looks like Ant & Dec have found a replacement for Saturday Night Takeaway.

It should be illegal in my opinion.

This is so wrong. It's not for a family to decide who a woman should marry.

How could anyone possibly marry someone they've never seen until the moment they say "I do"?

I don't know much about divorce in America but over here you have to be married a year before filing for divorce. I highly doubt a court of law would allow the marriage annulled because of the show.
