DCs Stevie Moss (Lucy Speed), Terry Perkins (Bruce Byron) and Trainee DC Will Fletcher (Gary Lucy) are observing Maloud Senac’s (Stewart Scudamore) restaurant. DI Samantha Nixon (Lisa Maxwell) has instructed them to keep a close eye on Maloud, as his restaurant is always nearly empty, yet large and regular deposits have been made into his bank account.

During the observation, an old informant of Stevie’s, Kenny Bordmann (Ross Boatman) shows up and he is swiftly taken aside by Terry, who tells him that if he keeps them informed of Senac’s movements, they will ensure his protection. Kenny reveals that Maloud is planning to import thirty kilos of cocaine into the country via an airfreight company that brothers Gary (Steve Chaplin) and Daniel Pfeiffer (John Hopkins) own. Stevie heads to the company, pretending to be a customer and notes the differences between surly Gary and charming Daniel: she is also surprised to see Maloud’s daughter, Salma (Taniel Yusef) there. Later, Kenny tells Terry that the team need to act fast as the shipment of drugs is coming in later that afternoon.

Samantha, desperate to get a good result on the case, prepares the team for the raid and informs them that sniffer dogs at the airport have confirmed that Maloud’s drugs are in a labelled box. Samantha waits on a motorway bridge while Terry informs her that Daniel, Maloud and Kenny have left the airfreight warehouse with the box of drugs, while Gary stays behind. However, Samantha is furious when Daniel’s car is finally stopped and searched but there are no traces of the drugs: the box they have only contains fruit.

Back at the station, Samantha briefs the team and tells them that Kenny may have double crossed them. The package must have been switched at the warehouse, so finding Gary is a priority. Terry and Stevie go back to observing the restaurant and follow Gary’s car when he eventually leaves. The DCs follow him to a canal where they wait silently until they hear the unmistakable sound of gunshots, before Gary’s car speeds off. They race to see who the victim is and are stunned when they find Kenny has been kneecapped.

The case takes another violent turn when Samantha discovers Salma’s blood in the warehouse and soon realises she has been kidnapped. She confronts Maloud who he is furious that they are questioning him rather then looking for his daughter. However, when Senac’s back is turned, Samantha uncovers footage on his laptop that has been emailed to him. It’s a terrified Salma begging her father to pay a ransom. Why would he hide this from the police?

During the investigation, Samantha confides in Superintendent Heaton (Daniel Flynn) that she has decided to accept a job offer from the Child Exploitation Unit. While she wants to keep the news quiet, she tells Heaton that the job starts with immediate effect.

Lisa Maxwell’s (D.I. Samantha Nixon) last episode. :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: Guest starring Georgia Moffett as Abigail Nixon**

At the station, DI Samantha Nixon (Lisa Maxwell) shows her team the footage of kidnapped Salma Senac (Taniel Yusef), begging her father Maloud (Stewart Scudamore) to pay the demanded ransom for her safe release. Samantha is determined to solve the case, knowing it will be her last at Sun Hill before her move to the Child Exploitation Unit.

Daniel Pfeiffer (John Hopkins) is brought in for questioning and after watching the footage of Salma, finally admits that they are in a relationship. He confesses to knowing about the drug deal but insists that he wasn’t involved and says the deal was between his brother Gary (Steve Chaplin) and Maloud. He tells Samantha that Gary took the drugs to a lock-up and Gary may have snatched Salma because Maloud wouldn’t pay Gary the money he owed for the drugs. Daniel also tells the DI where Gary’s gun is and says that it’s the same weapon used to shoot Kenny Bordmann (Ross Boatman).

Later, Sun Hill officers secretly bug Gary’s car in the hope that he will lead them to Salma. DC Terry Perkins (Bruce Byron) follows him and watches while Gary meets Maloud, who demands the return of his daughter. Terry listens while Gary tells Maloud that Salma will be released as soon as he’s received his money, but the DC is forced to arrest them both when Maloud starts beating Gary. Elsewhere, the team finally get a breakthrough when they discover Salma’s whereabouts and although she is in a bad way, she’s alive.

DC Stevie Moss (Lucy Speed) gently questions Salma about her ordeal and she says that it was Gary who kidnapped her. Elsewhere in the hospital, Terry visits Kenny who has regained consciousness. He is stunned when Kenny tells him that although it was Gary who shot him, it was Daniel who goaded him into doing it. As CID turn their attentions to Daniel, it becomes clear he has been the puppet master all along.

At the end of her last shift, Samantha finally summons up the courage to tell her already knowing team that it’s her last day at Sun Hill. She is taken to the local pub and while the gang drink to her new job, Samantha’s daughter Abigail (Georgia Moffett) joins them to congratulate her mum as Samantha looks forward to the future.
