IMO it's Karl who just looks younger than his age.
The reason that Lucas and Vanessa are getting married is a bad idea, just getting married so her family won't cut her off is a mistake,they should only be getting married if they both love each other,and it looks like Vanessa still has feelings for Rhys which is also another good reason they shouldn't get married.

Yep it's been a while, used to watch it loads but when I changed job I sort of stopped watching. Sonya definitely didn't have a baby so it was definitely over 9 months!! Now I'm unemployed again there's time for neighbours,

I think she's so upset because she knows Paul mentioned it to deliberately sabotage her application. It was mentioned that the academy would have checked her history anyway, but I think Sophie was hoping they'd be so impressed by her audition that they'd ignore her previous bad bahaviour!

I agree with you about the theme tune - it's truly awful - but I'm liking the new family so far.
Neighbours has been on top form for a while now. I actually prefer it to Home and Away nowadays, even though H&A was my favourite soap for many years.

yeap i agree,its certainly enjoyable and working well. i think neighbours are going back to their roots and thats it's appeal to us brits. its corrie with nice houses, gardens and attractive people. :D

Got to say I do find it funny that Neighbours obviously isn't allowed to show some drugs (hence everyone's thumb being over the pills in the bag), but we can have the cast running around half-naked and jokes about having a 'stiff drink' in the the same show!

Kip was indeed on Home and Away for many many years. I was all I know your face then I googled him I was all AHHA it's you, I don't mind Harley as Josh, IMO it's Mason (Taylor) isn't that great of an actor, I hope that Remy losens up a bit at the moment he's a bit flat and wooden in his role as Hudson hopefully once he settles into the role he will get better.

just tuned into neighbours again and what a refreshing change. as much as i love our home grown soaps they are getting a bit ott, ordinary is a refreshing change. the good thing about neighbours is, you can pick it up at the drop of a hat and follow it quite easily. a very enjoyable 22 minutes of continuing drama. the only problem is, i wish i hadn't, i need to watch it again on monday.
good news on the theme tune front, they have revamped it again and it has gone back to the more familiar theme tune. i think this version has aired in oz and is due to air in the uk in november. :)

I've loved the Gem storyline as she's so deliciously evil :D I'm sure Georgia will see her for what she is now.
I really can't stand Josh and Amber - they're both so lacking in personality and such weak actors :angry:
The secret baby storyline should be good though.
Love seeing Lucy back - she seems to be the only person Paul respects.

I'm liking Daniel so far. He seems like an interesting character and is played by a decent actor, an increasing rarity in Neighbours' younger cast these days. His scenes with Imogen felt a bit forced though.
It's good to see Paul looking happy again too. The montage of them both on the phone to Scott and Charlene was funny :D

I like Sonya and I don't blame her for being nervous of Naomi being close to Toadie. It was very silly to push them back to working together though - I'm sure they could have found another PA in Erinsborough if they'd really tried!
Yeah, Paul and Sheila work really well together. Them being locked in the cold together all night was really fun - especially Sheila's dream afterwards! :D

I agree Neighbours is on top forum! I really like Naomi too, the actress who plays her is very good and I like how her and Sheila are repairing their relationship. I've also come round to Paige a lot more now the secret is out.
That Nell is a little character! She always manages to make me laugh with her reactions to what's going on in the scene. I often get the feeling that the actors are ad-libbing around her.
I'm liking Brennan more and more these days. He's a much better character than he used to be and Scott MacGregor seems more comfortable in the role. I hope he and Paige last the distance as I like them much better than him and Kate.
Dakota's very intriguing. I don't watch Emmerdale so didn't know the actress before, but I think she's entertaining.
I enjoyed the Kennedys' special 20th anniversary episode. The flashbacks were great. It was a nice touch to toast "neighbours" and "good friends" at the end of the episode too.
I really like the Kennedys and Paul as frienemies (a new word I've learned recently!). Their scenes are always entertaining.

He definitely punched Chris, and everyone now seems certain that it was this that caused Chris to fall down and hit his head. The police did consider that someone else attacked Chris after Josh, but he has only one bruise (on his face), so that scenario was dismissed.

No, Nate's been ruled out, and also the random guy who was arguing with Chris. It seems that Josh definitely did it - unless there's a last minute twist.

I thought the whole fact that there WAS a random third person meant it was them, whoever they are. Because why would they be mentioned otherwise?

Well, the police ruled him out as he had a good alibi (in a taxi at the time, I think). More information could come to light, though.
I properly cried at an episode of Neighbours for the first time yesterday when Nate told the story of the little girl and the toy. :( It was the first time I've connected with Nate as a character, and I hope we see some more emotional scenes between him and Susan. It's good to see Neighbours doing a properly dark storyline for a change.
I'm enjoying Josh being forced to learn some humility, although I wish it weren't at Chris' expense.
Who else is finding it funny that as soon as Amber starts falling under Rain's spell, she starts dressing as a hippy? Good storyline though.

What a cliffhanger for us today! Surprised how very little warning we've had this year, but today's episode is our last for a month. Only place I've seen this is in TV Times.

I'm a bit disappointed Rain went so easily. I was hoping for all-out war between her and Lauren. Brainwashed Amber was an improvement on the usual drippy Amber too.
I'm a few days behind on Neighbours (UK pace) at the moment. The topless protest was a fun bit of unusual politics for the show and I was impressed that Lauren got in on the act. That was definitely unexpected!
It reminded me of former Neighbours star Caitlin Stasey's feminist website (http://herself.com/) which features interviews and nude photos of her and other women. It's not meant to be titillating but to show ordinary, imperfect female bodies that aren't on display for the male gaze. I was never a big fan of Rachel in Neighbours but the actress has gone up in my estimation now.

Neighbours is back to being good again after a few years that are best forgotten about IMO.

I like Paige and Nate too. Can't see anything wrong with what Paige is doing at the moment. The characters seem human to me, and no-one's perfect.

I couldn't agree more about Amber and Josh. Regular readers will know how much I detest that pair of wishy-washy self-centred nitwits. It doesn't help that the actors who play them are terrible either. :wall:
As I said above, I used to like Paige until quite recently. I think the stupid car ring storyline has done her no favours, and she has a nasty habit of butting into other people's lives and laying down the law. I also don't like the way she's recently been so pushy with Mark when she knows he's under the impression she just split with his brother. If she loves him so much, she ought to respect his relationship with Tyler.
I don't hate Paige, she just gets on my nerves at the moment. I think Olympia Valance is likeable enough, so hopefully Paige will improve (and I do hope she and Mark reunite).

Nate has definitely grown on me - I think he's really settled into the role, and I love his friendship with Tyler.
This is a bit embarrassing maybe but I'm enjoying the Brennan brothers....sometimes nice having something nice to look at! I like their relationship too.
My favourite female is Naomi. I think she's great and a good actress too. I'm not sure if this is unpopular view but I liked her with Brennan (more than him with Paige).

Tyler's my favourite (maybe partly due to his looks...) but I like Mark too (and his looks too!). I think you're right about Aaron - he's probably not as good an actor as Tyler and Mark, but I quite like his character and think it works well to have a middle brother, so I'm hoping he'll improve a bit.

Totally with you about those three. Particularly Paul - perhaps partly because he's the only original left. I think I'd add Toadie in too as an essential character.
I think Naomi's such a good character and actress that she works well with whoever they pair her with (including friendships). I think she's fine with Paul and I don't mind them being together, but my first choice would be her with Brennan.

Didn't like Georgia's explanation to Kyle at all. They agreed to do things together, the pre baby list, and now it's Georgia doing it on her own. And they both say they love each other!

Yes the manner of Georgia's exit was completely out of character for her, she was all loved up with Kyle on her wedding with the honeymoon at Lassiters etc right until the moment she left with her mother. I didn't see anything that could be viewed as doubts. I wish they had come up with something else for her exit it didn't ring true.

I agree with all of this. And so totally relate to you forgetting which threads you've ranted about! I know I've been banging on about what I think of Brad, Lauren, and Paige on various threads and was getting worried about repeating myself too much (sorry if I have...).

Agreed. Amber has been shown looking uncomfortable with the situation quite a few times. Her fake smile says it all.
Paige's dinner wasn't a success given the glum looks afterwards, and it was only Piper who chose to attend. I'm glad Josh is avoiding Lauren's house - for the moment at least. Thanks goodness he's got some sense of loyalty towards his mum. Playing happy families so soon with your father and the women with whom he cheated is a huge betrayal, even if Terese gave them permission. It was extremely insensitive of Paige to invite the Willis kids.
I couldn't help but laugh at Brad's obvious disappointment that he didn't get laid afterwards. :D

Brad is annoying and a hypocrite. I'd be happy to see him killed off. He seems to have passed on some of his worst traits to creepy Ned, who can't take no for an answer. I said earlier on another thread that Ned is a stalker in the making if he doesn't change his behaviour around women. :wall:

Eight years: Piper's 16 and Tyler's 24. She's way too young for him and still a child at that age. He should have more sense...
Umm Ned.. more a fantasist than a stalker, yes he will manipulate when he can people around him into getting what he wants and he will always want what he cant have but he will always be after the reaction of the targets partner, be it friend be it family not the person they are using to get the reaction.

True, Ned certainly wasn't mentally ill but I did find him very obsessive. I'm not convinced his attraction to Lauren was solely about getting at Brad, but it could definitely have been an added bonus!

I'd like "John" to remain a priest, but no doubt he won't be able to resist the allure of the fragrant Paige for very long. I don't think Neighbours would have a priest as a regular character - certainly not a handsome young man who's needed as a love interest.

Yes, the superhero role playing was very cringeworthy. While I thought it was a lovely thing to do for the unhappy girl, it shouldn't have taken most of the episode and ought to have been written (and acted!) a whole lot better.

I agree. I really like the way he secretly betrays Paul by helping Terese. He's turned into a very good character.

I think the Elly/Ned pairing are just not interesting, both characters are too new to the show for anyone to invest in them as a couple or care, the fact Ned has brushed aside Elly bullying his little sister is a bit off - Susan too for that matter.
I feel I want to like Ned but the thing with Elly makes me not, he can do better than her and the fact she acts as immature as the teens on the show doesn't help, a very self centred character can't warm to her at the moment.
I too can't warm to either Ned, Elly or their relationship. She isn't even funny any more like when she was being an uber bitch. She's just a common or garden bitch nowadays. As for Ned, I just can't get the creepy way he obsessed over Lauren out of my head so I have no liking for him.
Yeah, the way Amy had to forgive Kyle or appear unreasonable was a little sickening. It put me in mind of the outrageous way Xanthe fell over herself to forgive the kid who assaulted her. Please give these women some self-respect!
I just knew Sonia was thinking of surrogacy when Steph and Mark were crying over their lack of kids. If we ignore the glaring fact that the couple have been together for all of five minutes, surrogacy could be an interesting storyline - particularly for Sonia.
Well at least Maddison has gone, our ears are less likely to bleed now watching the show.
I'm sorry to have to tell you that there's more of Madison to come when she, Xanthe and Ben visit the Gold Coast. I'm pretty sure that'll be the end of her though, and I'm sure those scenes will be entirely superfluous to the main plot and can be skipped.

Ex pole dancer from H&A Ellie is some kind of twisted bunny boiler, actually a very good role in the show, she cares not for anyone but is all about what she wants to hell with it, sounds like one of my sisters who ironically who also lives in Australia.

I remember him in Casualty now I think about it.
However judging by how the scene was shot Im guessing Lauren isnt a dancer and they brought in a foot n leg double to compensate. :D

Yes, he was good in Casualty.
I'm pretty sure that was a stunt double for the dancing scenes, but had to laugh when Lauren trod on his foot. :) Kate has a nice singing voice from some clips I've seen but perhaps dancing isnt her forte.

I'm having a break from Neighbours at the moment, which is something I've never done deliberately before. I'm not enjoying any of the main storylines: dull Jack and Paige, stomach churning Tyler and Piper, creepy Angus and Ellie...and especially the execrable and ludicrous surrogacy storyline!
Even the Paul/Terese feud/flirtation which I previously enjoyed has now been going on waaay too long. :wall:
Yeah the story lines are all kind of screwed up at the moment.
Jack could be perceived as a vile human being, he took advantage of Paige in that hut when she was at her most vulnerable, ok it was with total consent but then to turn around and become the priest again??? This isnt the first time the show has, well kinda tested the catholic entity, some years ago Sussan bedded a priest, a brother or someone related to Lynn Skully.
I keep saying this but Toady needs to nicely leave Sonja, be her mate but she will never do anything that isnt what she wants no matter what the cost, shes not a do gooder shes a narcissist.
Ellie loves bad boys, well thats what she got in her ex, who just used her for a booty call.
The doctor in Narnia story line is getting tedious, neither party are blessed with acting skills as for the grandma!

I dont think they come more yuck than someone who profanes ab-stance and people he (her) associates with feel safe with him, then they find out he has begot a son/daughter from a women he could be seen as at her weakest/vulnerable moment after she almost died and she was one of his congregation all be it to get close to him but its not Paige thats broken vows. I loved the shocking twist of Dee being an imposter (despite the implausibility) but Toadie being so cruelly conned has got really old really fast. I hope there's more twists to come in the storyline.

So Brad was taking the side of a Priest who broke his vows and took his daughter while she was vulnerable because he is the pap of the result and cant see that his daughter has maybe been used.. oh you have to tell him its his Paige.. more like you need to tell the church that maybe the guy shouldnt be allowed around vulnerable people period... what he has done isnt a break of the law just a break of the moral code he projects and by which earns trust in others.

The fans who are suggesting Dee isn't really an imposter think Willow might not be her biological daughter (she could be a step-daughter for example), and that Dee doesn't know she's the real Dee. :D
