ITV is reportedly planning to up X Factor to two nights a week.

According to The Sun, the new series could feature a performance show on Saturday nights, with the results following on Sunday.

The new format, which mirrors Strictly Come Dancing, is said to be aimed at increasing advertising on the channel.

An insider is quoted as saying: "ITV is struggling with cash so it reckons getting two X Factor shows a week will haul in the ads. And the fans will be able to watch their favourite acts again."

I agree, it's a bad idea. The results show would have to be pre recorded I assume if it was to be shown on Sunday? That means the results would be leaked on the Saturday night after they've all performed

The only way I can see it working is if viewers get to vote overnight and the results are shown live on the Sunday, but I do prefer it all being over and done with on the Saturday night.

They need to keep it to one night. No-one wants to wait 24 hours to see which act is out. I don't why SCD does it as everyone knows it's pre-recorded and the results are posted on other sites.
