What do you do which is good for your body?

e.g:

1. Gurgle salty water (kills bacteria overnight)
2. Drink plenty of water (as GhostRider says :p)

Thank-you!

Breathing. I'm being deadly serious. Shallow breathing or not breathing when concentrating doesn't do the body any good. Apart from keeping you alive, proper breathing helps the body relax and supplies the blood/heart/eye etc with vital oxygen.

I think the three main ingredients that your body needs daily are: water, oxygen and sodium.

This is true... Doctors will tell you if you get a short sharp pain anywhere to breath deep and heavy as the extra oxygen will reduce the pain... that is why they get women to pant in labour to increase the oxygen supply around the body and decrease the pain...

Yup, and we get plenty of that in our diet, so doctors recommend cutting down on salt.

there is salt in everything so you don't really need to add it anyway

Other things that are good for you:

Walking - a good 30 min walk eveyday will do wonders for your health.
Lifestyle changes - e.g. getting a consistent sleeping pattern, cutting down on alcohol etc

Lol - how did you know I have two left feet? :)

Any physical activity that raises your heart beat is good for you. Its too easy to become a couch potato, so joining a salsa dancing club or something equivalent is a good idea.

I do 30 mins on my mum's tredmill, don't add salt to my food, and eat the healthier option of stuff (which is acutally very tasty!!) eg. low fat foods, semi skimmed milk, brown bread etc. I feel better about myself now I change these habits.

trampolining is good if you do it properly as it gets your heartbeat going, it also strengthens the muscles in your arms and legs and helps you have good posture too

I went onto skimmed milk recently from Semi skimmed, took abit of getting use to.but it fits in with my low fat diet and did you know the skimmed and semi skimmed have more calcium in them then full fat. Years ago I use to drink gold top milk or jersey fullllll fat,how tastes have changed. And back in the sixties we cooked with lard :rotfl:

I have decided to start training for a triathlon.
My sons do them and I generally just watch, so maybe I should join in.

For an adult sprint triathlon you need to:
swim 750m
cycle 20km
run 5km.

I can do the swimming no problem, I cycle down to the health club twice a week with the boys and swim.

Unfortunately I cannot run.
I did 5 ks up until abouut 3 years ago, when I got chronic fatigue syndrome. Although I am better now I have never got back into the running.

There are events called try a tri, and there is one in Granton on Spey in September, so I am thinking of that.

All you do is:

400m swim
11 km bike
2.5km run.

I will let you know how I get on, if I live! lol
