VETERAN Blake’s 7 actor Paul Darrow has landed a role in Emmerdale.
The 68-year-old who played cold computer fraudster Kerr Avon in the Eighties Beeb sci-fi series, has been snapped up to play fun-loving Eddy Fox.
Paul — who was Captain Hawkins in Doctor Who and, more recently, a judge in Law and Order: UK, and a Tory MP in Little Britain — will appear as an old pal of Alan Turner.
Show stalwart Alan is played by Richard Thorp. The actors are friends in real life.
Free spirit Eddy is set to win the affections of the villagers over ten episodes.
He makes his first appearance on the ITV1 soap in July on a trike. Paul said: “I am delighted to be appearing in Emmerdale.
“My character Eddy’s going to be great fun to play. I’ll get to ride around the Dales on my trike in my leathers. I’ll be like Marlon Brando.
“I’m also really looking forward to catching up with my old pal Richard Thorp. We used to work together way back on Emergency Ward 10.”
