Fox has unveiled its lineup for the 2009-10 season, confirming two new dramas and four new comedies.

As expected, the network is introducing a Fall season of reality dance contest So You Think You Can Dance in the hope of mirroring the success of American Idol, which anchors its midseason schedule. The series - fronted by Cat Deeley - will air its performance show on Tuesday nights and its results show on Wednesdays.

On Wednesday, Dance will serve as a lead-in to Glee, a new hour-long musical comedy from Nip/Tuck creator Ryan Murphy. The show will be previewed on Fox tomorrow night off the back of the American Idol finale.

Tim Roth's Lie To Me will return for a second season and switch to Monday nights, where it will have House - back for its sixth season - as a lead-in. Bones, which has been picked up for two seasons, will be paired up with J.J. Abrams' Fringe on Thursday nights.

Despite a poor start in the ratings, Joss Whedon's Dollhouse is being renewed for Friday nights, airing after a double comedy bill comprising the new half-hour Brothers, and the returning 'Til Death.

American Idol gets a midseason return, with the performance show airing on Tuesdays and the results following on Wednesdays as usual. New drama series Past Life will launch off the back of Idol on Tuesdays, and DC Comic-influenced Human Target is given a similar Wednesday slot. The latter will premiere with a special preview on Sunday, January 17 after the NFC Divisional Playoff game.

The eighth season of 24 will get its traditional two-night, four-hour premiere on Sunday, May 17 before settling into its regular Monday, 9pm slot after House.

Also renewed but with an as-yet unconfirmed place in the schedule are two Gordon Ramsay series, Hell's Kitchen and Kitchen Nightmares.

Not making it back next season are Prison Break, and the recently axed Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.

ABC has announced its 2009-10 lineup, which includes six new drama series and four comedies, including the previously announced Courteney Cox-fronted Cougar Town.

Further details of the new shows can be found below:

Drama

Flash Forward
As previously announced, ABC has ordered this sci fi drama, which is billed as the new Lost. The show, which stars Sonya Walger and Jack Davenport, focuses on the chaos which ensues after everyone on the planet blacks out for two minutes and seventeen seconds.

The Forgotten
The Jerry Bruckheimer drama, starring Rupert Penry-Jones, is a mystery series about a group of amateur detectives who work on identifying John and Jane Does. Reiko Aylesworth, Anthony Carrigan, Michelle Borth and Bob Stephenson also star.

Happy Town
Happy Town, from the creators of October Road, is a mystery set in the hamlet of Happy Town, which had enjoyed a seven-year peace after a series of kidnappings until it is hit by another crime.

V
The 4400 co-creator Scott Peters wrote the script for a reinvention of the cult series, which follows Homeland Security agent Erica Evans and her son as they combat an invasion from lizard-like aliens.

Eastwick
Loosely based on 1987 movie The Witches Of Eastwick, the TV series focuses on three women who discover that they have supernatural abilities after a new man arrives in their hometown.

The Deep End
A new midseason drama charting the difficult first year of four young lawyers working at one of LA's most prestigious law firms.

Comedy

Cougar Town
Written by Scrubs duo Bill Lawrence and Kevin Biegel, this comedy sees Courteney Cox play a single mother to a 17-year-old son. The show focuses on her life as she adapts to being newly single.

Hank
Kelsey Grammer stars as Hank Pryor, a successful man who suddenly finds himself jobless, practically penniless and forced to adapt to a more domestic life with his wife and kids.

The Middle
The Middle introduces us to The Hecks, a middle class family living in the middle of Indiana. Patricia Heaton stars as wife and mother-of-three in this comedy, about raising a family and lowering your expectations.

Modern Family
From writer-producers Steve Levitan and Christopher Lloyd, this is a mockumentary about three suburban couples: one traditional, one gay, and one mixed-race.

Does anybody still remember the series 'V' from many years ago? It was brilliant tv viewing.

Ugly Betty will switch to Friday nights when it returns next season, ABC has confirmed.

The drama, which stars America Ferrera in the titular role, suffered a ratings decline of 16% over its third season. The fourth run will play out in a graveyard slot on Fridays between reality series Supernanny and news magazine 20/20.

Unveiling its 2009-10 slate in New York today, the network also confirmed the creation of an all-new comedy block on Wednesday nights. There, it will debut Kelsey Grammer's Hank, Patricia Heaton's The Middle, Courteney Cox's Cougar Town and mockumentary Modern Family.

The much-buzzed about new drama Flash Forward will start Thursday nights, after which Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice are paired.

Lost will return to the schedule for its sixth and final season early in 2010. New seasons of veteran medical comedy Scrubs and returning sitcom Better Off Ted are also being saved for midseason.

Nathan Fillion's crime drama Castle has been picked up for a second season and will air Monday nights after Dancing With The Stars.

On Tuesday, the Dancing results show will serve as lead-in to The Forgotten, a new murder detective drama starring Rupert-Penry Jones and Reiko Aylesworth.

Sunday nights remain unchanged, with Desperate Housewives and Brothers & Sisters returning for their sixth and fourth seasons respectively.

New drama Eastwick, based on the 1987 comedy movie The Witches Of Eastwick, will join the Fall lineup at 10pm on Wednesdays after the comedy block.

Midseason dramas include legal drama The Deep End, murder mystery Happy Town and a new version of cult classic V.

Among the axed and ending shows are veteran comedy According To Jim, Life On Mars, Bryan Fuller's Pushing Daisies, Jonny Lee Miller's Eli Stone and family drama Dirty Sexy Money.

Additionally, ABC confirmed that it would be reinstating quiz show Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? to its primetime lineup over the summer months for a special tenth anniversary run.

Looking at the dates again, they must be wrong because House will have finished by May at the latest as it starts end of September.
