Natasha (Amanda Donohoe) tells Mark (Maxwell Caulfield) that they need to watch Cain (Jeff Hordley) as he won’t back down easily. Her prophecy comes true in the village when Maisie (Alice Coulthard) tells Cain that his flirting will not go unrewarded. Back at Home Farm Natasha is interrupted from the preparations by a knock at the door – it’s Faye (Kim Thomson). After a decidedly awkward conversation about job vacancies, Faye is horrified to discover what Natasha is planning for. Mark is stunned to be told about the unexpected incident and angrily rips up Faye’s CV in front of a puzzled Natasha. Can Mark hide the real reason behind his anxiety?

Meanwhile, Pollard (Chris Chittell) is adamant that he won’t give up on the election despite suffering a suspected heart attack. David (Matthew Wolfenden) seeks answers from his father but Pollard refuses to talk to him and David is none the wiser as to his health issues. When David later overhears a semi-argument between Val (Charlie Hardwick) and Pollard he demands answers. Pollard lies that he invented an illness to guilt David into pulling out of the election. Val is incredulous and begs him not to beckon an early grave as an act of male pride, but he will not be told. Pollard tries to apologise to David for lying but is told he’s a despicable father. Will the election damage their relationship beyond repair?

Elsewhere, Doug (Duncan Preston) is concerned when he discovers the rift between Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy) and Ashley (John Middleton). Examining the void in their relationship Doug wonders how he can help them out. He finds Ashley and realises that there’s been a communication breakdown where both Laurel and Ashley want to talk about their feelings but feel unable to do so. Doug hastily arranges an opportunity for them to chat and Laurel discovers that Ashley is worried about damaging their marriage so soon after they’ve gotten back on track. Laurel manages to calm his fear and they agree to try for a baby at a time in the future when both feel ready.

PI for the rest of the week follows:

Tuesday 26 May 7pm

Mark (Maxwell Caulfield) remains distracted by Faye’s (Kim Thomson) impromptu visit. Still struggling to commit his vows to paper Mark decides to go for a drive. He drives to Faye’s flat and pushes her inside when she answers the door. She quizzes him about the renewal of vows and states that such an act is irrelevant. Asking her what she wants Faye replies with a single word ‘you’. Mark argues back that she had no right to come to his house but he’s stunned into silence when Faye reminds him of the potential consequences of their secret past. Faye threatens to tell Natasha (Amanda Donohoe) the truth about their history together and Mark is faced with the reality that his life could be torn apart. With one last effort to win Mark’s affections her way, Faye kisses him momentarily. Mark begins to reciprocate before realising what he’s doing. Will Mark end things with Faye and risk Natasha discovering the truth or sacrifice his marriage and children?

Also, Gennie (Sian Reese-Williams) is touched when Bob (Tony Audenshaw) praises her efforts ahead of the variety show. Bob steps in for Shadrach (Andy Devine) at the show when the latter decides to do a runner. Belle (Eden Taylor-Draper) sets up for her ‘decapitation chamber’ act but the release of a smoke bomb causes the sprinklers to go off. The audience race outside but Gennie realises that Bob has been abandoned in the chamber. After rescuing him Gennie takes Bob home and speaks of her admiration with how he saved the day. Gennie is left reeling when she shares a moment of unspoken attraction with Bob. Is the attraction between them something more than they realise?

Also, Lee (Lewis Linford) is irritable after a night sleeping in Seth’s hide. Sam (James Hooton) reports news of an intruder in the grounds to Nathan (Lyndon Ogbourne) and is ordered to keep a look out. When Lee finds out that Nathan told Sam to burn the clothes he found he flips and his secret is exposed to an amused Nathan and Katie (Sammy Winward). Katie offers Lee a place to stay and he gratefully accepts. When Nathan arrives at the house he is irate to find Lee in a towel and jumps to the wrong conclusion. Katie explains that she’s helping out a friend and Nathan is pacified. Can Nathan contain his jealousy?

Wednesday 27 May 7pm

Mark’s (Maxwell Caulfield) encounter with Faye (Kim Thomson) is in danger of consuming him as their re-wedding day dawns. Blaming his anxiety on the vow preparation, Mark does his best to avoid Natasha’s (Amanda Donohoe) questions. The congregation arrive at the church without a hitch and Mark is forced to put his fears to one side. As the ceremony begins Mark turns to realise Faye has slipped in at the back. She struggles to listen as Natasha expresses her love for Mark during her vows. Expecting the worst Mark takes the opportunity to deliver a moving and emotional speech to Natasha, seeing it as his last opportunity to tell his wife how he feels and Faye witnesses the fact that Mark loves Natasha more than he did her. The ceremony draws to a close and as the happy couple walk up the aisle Mark meets Faye’s gaze and can’t read her intentions. Will Faye interrupt the Wyldes and reveal the secret which could destroy their wedded bliss?

Later, Jimmy (Nick Miles) accompanies Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) to the reception and masks his relief when she avoids alcoholic drinks. Nicola, still unaware that Jimmy knows about the baby, is pleased with the fact he is dancing to her tune. Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy) points out that she can’t hide nature and Nicola worries about her growing tummy. Rodney (Patrick Mower) is also quick to deal out advice when Jimmy forsakes alcohol to share a fruit juice with Nicola and asks him not to make his knowledge of the pregnancy obvious. Will Jimmy be able to keep his happiness under wraps?

At the shop Bob (Tony Audenshaw) is missing Viv whilst simultaneously dealing with his unexpected frisson with Gennie (Sian Reese-Williams). Bob struggles having her around and stuns Brenda (Lesley Dunlop) when he snaps at Gennie for offering advice on the café. Feeling immediately guilty Bob apologises to Brenda who tells him to do the same for Gennie, arguing that he’ll have to get used to not having his wife around. Can Bob continue to cope without Viv?

Thursday 28 May 7pm

Rodney (Patrick Mower) urges Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) to tell Jimmy (Nick Miles) about the baby before he notices for himself. Not one to wait patiently, Jimmy invites Rodney round and asks his permission to propose to Nicola. He hastily purchases an engagement ring and heads to Home Farm. Jimmy bumbles through a proposal and Nicola’s touched when he says he sold his car to buy the ring. Nicola accepts Jimmy’s marriage proposal, but still doesn’t tell him she’s pregnant, wanting to enjoy the romance. Rodney feigns surprise when they reveal they’re engaged before warning Nicola to tell Jimmy everything. How long can she keep her pregnancy from her fiancé?

Bob (Tony Audenshaw) is awkward when he finds Gennie (Sian Reese-Williams) looking for a new place to live. However, they are thrown together once more when Brenda (Lesley Dunlop) sprains her ankle and Gennie offers to cover at the shop and café. Bob is worried by the development, but can he maintain a professional relationship with Gennie?

Mark (Maxwell Caulfield) is a new man and wastes no time in injecting the romance back into his marriage. When he’s stopped by Cain (Jeff Hordley) in the village Mark is concerned when he mentions Faye but soon relaxes as Cain hints he’s merely attracted to her. Working at the garage with Debbie (Charley Webb), Cain asks her for a description of the woman she saw Mark with and delights that it matches Faye. Cain smiles, but what is he planning?

Friday 29 May

Rodney (Patrick Mower) tells Jimmy (Nick Miles) that Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) intends to break the news of her pregnancy today. After moving her stuff back into Mill cottage Nicola prepares to tell Jimmy everything, but they are interrupted by a phone call from Carl (Tom Lister) letting them know he and Lexi (Sally Oliver) are back in the country. Nicola’s mind instantly switches to dreaming of the look on Lexi’s face when they reveal their engagement. Carl and Lexi are horrified to be given the news as soon as they step in the door. When Lexi questions whether Nicola got pregnant to snare Jimmy, he replies by saying it wouldn’t be a bad thing. Nicola dumps Jimmy after realising he knew all along about her pregnancy and it’s the only reason he proposed. Can Jimmy convince Nicola he was genuine?

Meanwhile, Bob (Tony Audenshaw) avoids Gennie (Sian Reese-Williams) when she tries to address their growing closeness. When they’re given the task of preparing food for Laurel’s birthday party, Bob and Gennie have no choice but to work closely together. Gennie then gets a phone call to view a flat that afternoon and Bob offers to come with her. However, after talking things through Bob admits to Gennie that he doesn’t want her to move out and she says the same. Will other villagers notice the spark between Bob and Gennie?

Elsewhere, Brenda (Lesley Dunlop) is eager to get back to work, but Terry (Billy Hartman) advises her to rest up. Brenda is delighted when Doug (Duncan Preston) presents her with a wheelchair enabling her to get back in action. Terry is unimpressed that Doug has started interfering in Brenda’s life again and has to hide his jealousy.

OMG!!! it looks like Cain is onto Mark, his secret will come out soon enough, cannot wait for this storyline to develop more, Faye seems like the 'other' woman with hidden secrets that can destroy Marks family apart.:cheer:

Wonder if Marks character comes across like a good actor instead of a wooden character.:hmm:

I really hope Nicola's baby is Jimmy King's baby and not David's baby

OK, so last week, I posed the Emmerdale question 'What's Faye's connection to Mark?' and you voted in your thousands to tell me exactly what you thought.

Ever since Faye Lamb (Kim Thomson) descended on the village in March and began watching Mark Wylde (Maxwell Caulfield), viewers have been left wondering who on earth she actually is.

Over half of you (58.8%) believe Faye to be Mark's mistress, while 16% interestingly think that they're accomplices in murder. In a close third place, 13.1% are sure that she's a relative of some sort.

The remaining votes were fairly evenly splt, with 3.4% clicking the 'she's his stalker' option, 3.1% saying they're business partners and the remaining 5.5% thinking she's hanging around for some other reason.

Well, we don't have much longer to wait as I can reveal that her true connection to Mark will finally be uncovered during an hour-long episode on Tuesday, May 26. I was quite surprised when I found out actually. It's a really good little twist which kind of turns everything on its head...

Then three weeks later, Mark's supposed son Ryan Lamb - played by James Sutton - makes his first appearance, during which he's apparently half-naked and wearing nothing but a towel...

And finally to a bizarre picture from Emmerdale - probably the weirdest pictures I've had in a Sunday picture roundup.

Yes, Belle (Den Taylor-Draper) is performing in a village magic show about to 'saw' Bob (Tony Audenshaw) in half when the smoke from her used (chocolate tin) pyrotechnic (singular) sets off the sprinklers.

Here's hoping that fairly pointless storylines like this will rapidly fade out as the show moves towards its October relaunch.

The scene airs 26 May

Probably Nicola's very public and funny delivery of her baby.

I think having Belle sawing Bob in half in a magic show is a fab idea. What is she going to do to Shadrach.
