Jason (Ryan Thomas) has called the hospital to check up on Colin (Edward De Souza), he tells Eileen (Sue Cleaver) that his condition is stable but Eileen is unforgiving and tells Jason that her dad got his just desserts for what he did. Meanwhile Julie (Katy Cavanagh) is determined to speak to her mum and find out her side of the story and is shocked to discover from Eileen that Colin has had a stroke.

Roy (David Nielson) is impressed with Anna’s work at the café and asks her to go to the cash and carry for him – giving her his password and ID number. Although Anna (Debbie Rush) has proved to be a trustworthy and hard working employee Roy has overlooked the lengths her work-shy hubby is willing to go to to make some easy money.

Blanche (Maggie Jones) has persuaded Deirdre (Anne Kirkbride) to join her at the One O’Clock club mystery tour giving Ken (William Roache) the opportunity to plan his getaway in secret. But as he packs his bags and writes a letter for Deirdre, Peter arrives and susses exactly what he is up to.

Elsewhere Tyrone (Alan Halsall) is annoyed to find Connie (Rita May) round at number nine and sitting in Vera’s old chair. Molly (Vicky Binns) tries to point out that she is doing nothing wrong and makes Jack (William Tarmey) happy but Tyrone is not to sure about it.

Monday 4 May 8.30pm

Peter (Chris Gascoyne) is furious with his father for the way he is treating Deirdre (Anne Kirkrbide) and berates him for being a coward as he sets off for his new life on Martha’s barge. Martha (Stephanie Beacham) is delighted he has chosen her over Deirdre and over lunch excitedly plans their new life together. Will Ken regret the decision he has made? How will Deirdre react when she finds the letter?

Armed with Roy’s cash and carry card and the password he stole from Anna’s purse, Eddie (Steve Huison) stocks up on cheap booze, paying for it all on Roy’s account. He tells a trusting Anna (Debbie Rush) that the drink was a present from a satisfied customer.

Tara (Ayesha Bharker) enjoys winding Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) up by telling him that Justin has taken some nude pictures of her for an art installation which he will display on the Victoria Court flats.

Julie’s (Katy Cavanagh) feelings for her dad are confused and when she goes to visit him at the hospital she can’t help feeling compassion for him and holds his hand.

Meanwhile Gail (Helen Worth) supervises Graeme (Craig Gazey) starting work on the Windasses overgrown garden.

Wednesday 6 May 7.30pm

Unbeknownst to Ken (William Roache), Peter (Chris Gascoyne) has taken the letter from number one before Deirdre (Anne Kirkbride) has had chance to read it. But has Ken made the right decision about his future or will he live to regret it when Deirdre discovers what has been going on?

Julie (Katy Cavanagh) talks to a sympathetic Jason (Ryan Thomas) about her feelings towards Colin (Edward De Souza) and, understanding what she is going though, he invites her in to have a look at the family album. Julie is intrigued to hear about all the family she never knew she had but her voyage of discovery comes to an abrupt end when Eileen (Sue Cleaver) arrives home and tells her that she is not welcome at number 11. It’s clear the recent revelations have affected both women deeply.

Darryl (Johnny Dixon) is feeling insecure about Amber (Nikki Patel) heading off to university and decides to end their relationship before she realizes that he isn’t good enough for her. Will she be able to persuade him that she loves him and won’t go off him when she goes away?

Connie (Rita May) invites Jack (William Roache) to join her at the Bingo – Jack agrees but sensitive to Tyrone’s feelings suggests they keep it to themselves.

Friday 8 May 7.30pm

Deirdre (Anne Kirkbride) finally gets to see the letter Ken (William Roache) had left for her and is stunned by its contents. In a state of shock she goes to see Eileen (Sue Cleaver) and tell her about the affair. Eileen is surprised by how forgiving Deirdre appears to be as she explains that Ken has always been looking for something that he has never quite found. Meanwhile Blanche (Maggie Jones) finds the letter and is horrified by what she reads.

Jason (Ryan Thomas) pays Colin (Edward De Souza) a visit in hospital and is shocked by what he sees. He explains to Tina (Michelle Keegan) that despite what Colin did he is still his grandfather and a frail old man. He promises Colin that he will try and get Eileen to visit – but Eileen is determined to make Colin pay for what he did.

Still working on his master plan to get revenge on Gary Windass (Mikey North), David (Jack P Shepherd) enlists Graeme’s (Craig Gazey) help in convincing Gary that David is a burglar.

Molly (Vicky Binns) is determined to get more involved in the garage business and suggests to Tyrone (Alan Halsall) that they ask Sally (Sally Whittaker) and Kevin (Michael Le Vell) to agree to change the name to Dobbs and Webster.

Friday 8 May 8.30pm

Blanche (Maggie Jones) is disgusted with Ken’s actions and, furious with Deirdre’s (Anne Kirkbirde) attitude to the whole thing, she packs her bags and storms out of number one. Peter (Chris Gascoyne) has just persuaded Michelle (Kym Marsh) to stay for dinner but the pair are rudely interrupted when Blanche arrives and announces she is moving in.

Paula (Sharon Duce) finally calls round to see Julie (Katy Cavanagh) and the pair have a proper heart to heart. Paula apologises to Julie for not telling Julie who her real dad was for so many years. Overcome with the emotion of it all Paula asks Julie if she can ever forgive her but Julie is not sure.

Meanwhile Eileen (Sue Cleaver) has finally given in and gone to visit Colin (Edward De Souza) – she finds him in such a weak state that she is overwhelmed with emotion and starts to cry. As he apologises for what he did she tells him that because she feels sorry for him doesn’t mean she has forgiven him for what he did.

Tara (Ayesha Dharker) decides to give Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) one final chance to come clean about his fling with Lisa but Dev is oblivious to Tara’s fishing and swears he has always been faithful. Furious Tara resolves to get her revenge.

David’s (Jack P Shepherd) plotting against Gary (Mikey North) steps up a gear as he and Graeme (Craig Gazey) discuss a fictitious burglary within his earshot.

Q? is , why has he left Martha. Reading above he's packed his bags and moved onto the barge, he's only moved in to the woman of his dreams and now he's left her ?

Because the grass might be greener on the other side of the fence, it still needs cutting and perhaps life on the barge was not all he thought it was. Or he goes back to Deirdre because he feels guilty.

I don't understand. Where does it say that Ken leaves Martha as well????:confused: :confused: :confused: :confused:

Stephanie Beacham leaves early May, Bill Roach is staying - so there is obviously no happy end for those two.

Hopefully they will leave the lock gates open for a return later in the year. Stephanie Beacham was excellent as Martha.
