Thought we could start a new thing on Soapboards where each week we play tribute to a band or artist that we think deserves recognition, and in turn post 7 of their best songs, one for each day of the week.
If anyone wants to suggest an artist and 7 of their best just PM me and I'll get a list of artists we can feature.
This week's artist is...
TINA TURNER
Quite simply the queen of Rock & Roll. Tina started out in the music buisness performing with husband Ike Turner, where they scored big hits with "River Deep Mountain High" and "Proud Mary".
After years of domestic abuse, Tina divorced Ike and built herself up, making a sucessful comeback as a solo artist in the early eighties. Hit after hit insued, songs such as "What's Love Got To Do With It?", "Private Dancer" and "Steamy Windows" have guaranteed her worldwide fame and recognition. She's even sung themetunes for the James Bond film "Goldeneye", and also sang "We Don't Need Another Hero" for The Mel Gibson film Mad Mad 3, in which she also stared.
Her life story was made into an biopic "What's Love Got To Do With It" in 1993. She is currently touring the word with her 50th Anniversary Tour, celebrating 5 decades in the muisc buisness.

Today's song is another movie hit. "We Don't Need Another Hero" from Mad Max 3, in which Tina also had a leading role, starring alongside Mel Gibson.

Sorry guys about this, there was a lot of mixed messages between members on this, but I've decided to finally get this back up and running. And to welcome it back, we're dedicating a fortnight to the first lady of Pop...
This fortnight's artist is...
MADONNA
Madonna is the most sucessful female solo artist of all time. There is not a person in the world who hasn't heard one of her songs. Since her arrival to the music scene in the 1980s, she has been a non stop hit machine, churning out legendary tune after legendary tune.
Forever changing her image, and her style, Madonna has survived 3 decades, and has an impressive back catalouge to show for it. She has adapted for the times and is still one of the most sucessful artists in the world!
She is really something special, and deserves not one week, but two weeks. So sit back and enjoy a fortnight of Madge's best :D :cheer: :bow:
Today's tune is the first big hit of Madonna's, that brought her into the public eye, from there on in, she became the world's favourite artist. It's 'Holiday'.

God I can remember buying this record on vynil many moons ago and I still love it one of her best songs.
With today being Sunday, I thought we'd go down a religious route for today's song from Madonna. This is one of her most iconic songs, just so much for the controversy it caused as much as the amaziness of the actual song.

Wow.. then you won't remember the one time only shown of the Madonna pepsi ad... I was glued to the tv and it was first release of this hit and it was in an ad (BANNNED)!! Love Madonna, love how she changes with the time, 80's Madonna as seen in Holiday, 90's Madonna with Vogue etc.. and 2000 Madonna with the confessions CD and working with Timberland and Justin (2 of the biggest people to work with).. Can this woman do no wrong?? Well in my opinion She can't.. love love love her
Today's Madonna tune has always been a fan favourite, not the best charting of her songs but one that a lot of fans rate highly! "La Isla Bonita"

It was no 1 in UK... "La Isla Bonita" was a worldwide hit, reaching number one in various countries, including the UK, Canada, France and Germany.
It started of really really slow coming in the low 70's and then climbed to no 1.
