Scared of finding out something’s wrong with the baby, Maria (Samia Smith) cancels her scan appointment at the hospital. As she sets about her day she tries to put it out of mind. But when Tony (Gray O’Brien) and Tom (Philip McGinley) resume their bickering over Ladrags she snaps back, obviously unable to shake her nagging fears.
Over at the factory Luke’s (Craig Kelly) onto Tony’s private investigator (John Branwell) and decides to play him at his own game. Pulling on a Tony mask Luke throws eggs at the PI’s car then disappears. The PI’s cover is blown when a mask-less Luke then re-appears to wave at him. Tony’s furious to hear his nemesis has got the upper hand once again. But as Luke prepares for his piece de resistance it all goes horribly wrong. It’s not Tony but a startled Maria who walks into the factory as Luke jumps out in the mask. It’s a stark reminder of the night Liam died that leaves both Maria and Tony having nightmares.
Teresa’s (Karen Henthorn) still not making many friends on the street. Minnie’s (Poppy Jhakra) annoyed when she arrives late for work. When she then kicks up a fuss in Dev’s (Jimmi Harkishin) shop he vows never to let his daughter marry Teresa’s son.
Meanwhile Poppy’s (Sophiya Haque) worried when Tara (Ayesha Dharker) tells her she’s planning a surprise for Dev. He’s keen to know what she’s got in store for him but has Tara got revenge in mind?
And Steve (Simon Gregson) and Becky (Katherine Kelly) return from the Maldives to find Liz (Beverley Callard) and Lloyd (Craig Charles) having a duvet day. But even that can’t dampen their spirits.
Monday 20 April 8.30pm
Luke’s (Craig Kelly) left red-faced after the mask stunt as Tony (Gray O’Brien) fumes at him, explaining the painful connotations of the mask for Maria (Samia Smith). Luke apologises but counters that Tony went too far hiring a PI and sacks him for gross misconduct. Outraged Tony meets with the PI (John Branwell) to look over Luke’s finances, determined to find something that will ruin him. Discovering Luke’s stretched himself to the limit buying the factory Tony threatens to stop all Underworld orders from his textile business if Luke doesn’t reinstate him. How will Luke react?
Meanwhile Tony visits Maria to check if she’s OK after Luke’s prank. Breaking down Maria admits there’s more to it, she cancelled her scan as she was terrified of going alone. Tony’s quick to step in offering to accompany her next time. But while Tony’s busy comforting Maria he forgets about his date with Natasha (Rachel Leskovac). How will she react to being stood up?
Tara (Ayesha Dharker) tells Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) she wants to preserve their relationship through photographs and suggests they pose naked for each other. Dev agrees and strips off for the shoot but when it’s Tara’s turn to pose, snapper Justin’s (Ralph Gassmann) conveniently called away. Dev remains oblivious as Tara hatches her plan.
Liz (Beverley Callard) isn’t happy to hear that Tracy wants Amy (Amber Chadwick) to visit her in prison and tells Steve (Simon Gregson) she won’t let Amy go. Becky (Katherine Kelly) warns Steve that lying to Amy will do more harm than good and as the two women clash Steve is caught in the middle yet again.
Darryl (Jonathan Dixon) decides to sack Teresa (Kren Henthorn) but when she shows him the widescreen TV she’s found for the flat he changes his mind. Incensed, Minnie (Poppy Jhakra) resigns instead.
In the Rovers, Jack (William Tarmey) and Connie (Rita May) discuss Vera and take a moment to acknowledge their losses. Connie gives Jack her number, hoping they’ll meet again.
Wednesday 22 April 7.30pm
Maria’s (Samia Smith) terrified as she waits for her scan. Tony’s (Gray O’Brien) by her side though and as the sonographer checks for a heartbeat she reaches out for his hand. Everything’s OK and as Maria’s told she’s having a boy her relief is palpable. But the image of Liam’s son is too much for Tony to bear and reminded of his sins he rushes from the room struggling to breath. Will his behaviour reignite Maria's suspicions?
Meanwhile, back on the street, Tom's (Philip McGinley) disappointed that Maria didn't ask him to take her to the scan. Tony, though, makes it clear he's out in the cold and, keen to stick the knife, in further he then tells Maria that Tom has a massive crush on her. Maria knows and jumping on her admission Tony offers to buy Tom out of Ladrags. But will Tom sell out to Tony?
Liz (Beverley Callard) berates Steve (Simon Gregson) for allowing Becky (Katherine Kelly) to persuade him to let Amy (Amber Chadwick) visit Tracy. But when Becky discovers Liz and Steve have told Amy her mummy works in a hotel, she encourages Steve to at least tell Amy that Tracy did something bad.
Tara (Ayesha Dharker) tells Poppy (Sophiya Haque) there’s nothing to salvage from her relationship with Dev (Jimmi Harkisin) so she’ll enjoy twisting the knife. She then raves about how the public art installation she’s planning will get everyone talking and asks Dev to put up £9,000 to help the project to take off.
And Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) is frustrated when Chesney (Sam Aston) leaves his homework to the last minute. Fiz tells Kirk (Andrew Whyment) that, in order to help Chesney she’s going to clue up on all things ‘Jekyll & Hyde’. But does that mean John (Graeme Hawley)?
Friday 24 April 7.30pm
Becky’s (Katherine Kelly) stung when Liz (Beverley Callard) criticises how she is with Amy (Amber Chadwick). So when Amy’s school call saying an upset Amy’s being sent home Becky sees an opportunity to help and goes to collect her. Miss Muirhouse (Marie Critchley) explains that another pupil told Amy her mum’s a murderer. When Amy then asks Becky if it’s true, Becky tells her it is, believing she deserves the truth. But Liz and Steve (Simon Gregson) are horrified to hear what Becky’s done and a huge row breaks out where more than a few home truths are revealed.
Maria’s (Samia Smith) furious to hear Tony’s (Gray O’Brien) offered to buy Tom (Philip McGinley) out of Ladrags behind her back. Feeling her life is spiralling out of her control she angrily tells Tony she doesn’t want to be in partnership with him. Tom’s happy he’s caused a rift between them.
Chesney (Sam Aston) asks Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) to find out what ‘misanthropic’ means so he can do his GCSE homework. Fiz seizes upon this as a reason to justify visiting John. As she arrives at the prison her emotions are in turmoil. How will she feel when she discovers she’s forgot her photo ID and can’t go in?
Kelly’s (Tupele Dorgu) on the hunt for a man to help spice up her birthday celebrations. She invites Luke (Craig Kelly) to her drinks but the factory girls tell her she’s deluded to think she has a chance with him.
And Jason (Ryan Thomas) offers to be Molly’s (Vicky Binns) training partner.
Friday 24 April 8.30pm
Becky’s (Katherine Kelly) hurting after her row with Steve (Simon Gregson) and as Roy (David Neilson) suggests she should have let Amy’s family tell her about Tracy, Becky admits she thought she was family. Steve meanwhile is also questioning their relationship. He tells Liz (Beverley Callard) that while he loves Becky she’s a liability and, with Amy to think of, he doesn’t know if it can work. Will the couple be able to sort through their differences or is this the end of the road for Steve and Becky.
It’s a good day for business for Tony (Gray O’Brien). He knows he’s got Luke (Craig Kelly) over a barrel and says he’ll only return to Underworld if Luke agrees to make decisions jointly. A truce is reached and as Maria (Samia Smith) too holds out the olive branch Tom (Philip McGinley) can see he’s beaten and agrees to sell his share of Ladrags to Tony. He’s smug as Maria admits he’s ‘like a brother’ to her. But Tom’s devastated and with his jealousy getting the better of him he lets rip at the pair.
Kelly’s (Tupele Dorgu) birthday celebrations are full swing in the Rovers. Kelly’s keen to a bag a man but when she hits on Luke he knocks her back. Kelly then turns her attentions to Tom, who after his row with Maria and Tony is only too happy to be leaving with someone else. Meanwhile as a drunken Julie (Katy Cavangah) laughs at Jason’s (Ryan Thomas) jokes he takes his chances and whisks her off.
Chesney’s (Sam Aston) concerned when Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) returns home downbeat. She hands him a dictionary and tells him misanthropy means ‘a general dislike/distrust of people’. She then tells Chesney she needs a cuddle.
And Molly (Vicky Binns) tells Jack (William Tarmey) it’s okay to spend time with Connie as Vera would want him to be happy. But Tyrone’s (Alan Halsall) annoyed that Molly’s encouraging Jack to see Connie.
