Tensions are bubbling under the surface as the Platts celebrate Easter. David (Jack P Shepherd) has hidden Joe’s (Reece Dinsdale) painkillers. Joe is frantically searching for them but when Tina (Michelle Keegan) arrives David immediately ‘finds’ the pills in the hope of impressing Tina. Joe’s left wondering if David took them in the first place but not wanting to make any more of a scene about his growing dependency he keeps his suspicions to himself. Audrey (Sue Nicholls) however has no such intentions and tells Joe exactly what she thinks of him, accusing him of sponging off Gail (Helen Worth) and simply using her. Gail’s furious and throws Audrey out. As it all goes off David presents Tina with an Easter egg with the details of a new flat hidden in the middle of it. How will Tina react as David tells her the flat is for them?

Peter (Chris Gascoyne), Simon (Alex Bain), Deirdre (Anne Kirkbride) and Blanche (Maggie Jones) attend the Easter service at church, taking Leanne the rabbit along for the pet blessing. Ken’s (William Roache) scathing about their Christian beliefs and tries to teach Simon the theory of humanism but when Simon asks if his mother is in heaven even Ken is silenced.

Meanwhile Ken hears a radio advert for a play in which Martha is performing. He tells Ted (Michael Byrne) he might go along to see it. Ted warns him it’s a bad idea. Ken knows it but will his emotions get the better of him?

After the jibes about his age Kevin (Michael LeVell) challenges Tyrone (Alan Halsall) to a race to prove he’s fitter than him. Kevin wins easily and tells Jason (Ryan Thomas) he wants to sign up for the 10k fun run. Molly (Vicky Binns) signs up too.

And Sophie (Brooke Vincent) tells Sally (Sally Whittaker) she wants to get herself christened.

Monday 13 April 7.30pm

Deirdre’s (Anne Kirkbride) exasperated when Ken (William Roache) turns down a day with the family for ‘canal research’. When she then can’t reach him on his mobile Peter (Chris Gascoyne) suggests they take Simon (Alex Bain) and Eccles for a walk. At the canal bank Ken’s in turmoil, having discovered Martha’s barge has gone, but when he sees Eccles dragging the Barlows to the very spot his heart sinks. Deirdre wants to know what he’s doing there but Ken explodes at her questioning. He then heads to the theatre, determined to see Martha (Stephanie Beacham). But as he tells an emotional Martha he can’t live without her he’s spotted by Audrey (Sue Nicholls), who’s there with Ted (Michael Byrne). Will Audrey realise the importance of the exchange she’s just witnessed and blow Ken’s secret?

Back on the street Audrey’s still convinced that Joe (Reece Dinsdale) is using Gail (Helen Worth) but tries to make amends by offering David (Jack P Shepherd) his job back at the salon. All is forgiven but while David’s thankful he’s more concerned with taking care of Gary (Mikey North). When he spots Bill (Peter Armitage) eyeing Gary suspiciously as he hangs round the builders yard he forms his revenge plan. When no-one‘s looking David steals Bill’s tools, he then heads to the Rover to celebrate his job with the Platts, where he makes a big show of asking Gary to form a truce. So how will David react when Bill comes in accusing Gary of theft?

A drunken Teresa (Karen Henthorn) arrives back on the street claiming she’s come to visit her son the birthday boy. Amber’s (Nikki Patel) bitter as she reveals Darryl’s (Jonathan Dixon) birthday was last week.

Anna’s (Debbie Rush) enthusiasm on her first day at the café startles Hayley (Julie Hesmondhalgh). But she’s impressed when she overhears Anna confess to Gary how much she values the job.

And Maria’s (Samia Smith) irritated by Natasha’s (Rachel Leskovac) twittering about her relationship with Tony (Gray O’Brien).

Monday 13 April 8.30pm

Ken (William Roache) tries to convince Martha (Stephanie Beacham) of his feelings for her, declaring his love. But Martha still feels violated by Ken’s betrayal and is angered to discover Deirdre (Anne Kirkbride) still doesn’t know about their relationship. As Martha flees Ken’s shocked to see Audrey (Sue Nicholls) and Ted (Michael Byrne) have witnessed everything. Ted’s worried that Audrey will reveal the truth to Deirdre. How will Audrey react when she faces Ken on the street?

Teresa’s (Karen Henthorn) made her way to the kebab shop where she’s trying to take money from the till. Amber (Nikki Patel) tries to restrain her whilst Minnie (Poppy Jhakra) goes for Darryl (Jonathan Dixon). But by the time he gets her out she’s made a good job of smashing the place up. Dev’s (Jimmi Harkishin) furious, threatening to call the police if she doesn’t go home. But when the taxi driver refuses to take her will Dev be forced to let Teresa stay?

In the Rovers Gary (Mikey North) denies stealing Bill’s (Peter Armitage) tools and is surprised when David (Jack P Shepherd) provides a false alibi for him. Gail’s (Helen Worth) proud of David’s ‘honesty’ but Gary remains sceptical of his nemesis’ motives.

Maria’s (Samia Smith) jealous when Natasha (Rachel Leskovac) receives flowers from Tony, so agrees to a drink with Tom (Philip McGinley). But when Maria tells Tom she wants to check his new designs with Tony, Tom’s hurt and left wondering about the nature of their ‘business’ relationship.

Wednesday 15 April 7.30pm

It’s Peter’s (Chris Gascoyne) birthday and Simon’s (Alex Bain) organising a party for him. Peter takes the opportunity to invite Michelle (Kym Marsh) and for Simon’s benefit she agrees. But the atmosphere at the Barlows is strained with tensions rife between Ken (William Roache) and Deirdre (Anne Kirkbride). Audrey‘s (Sue Nicholls) told Peter about Ken‘s other woman. Stunned Peter can’t believe that after all Ken’s lectures on morals he’s having an affair. Pulling him outside Peter wants to hear the truth. As Ken describes Martha as his soulmate Peter‘s disgusted. Claiming Deirdre has a right to hear this, Peter threatens to reveal all.

Tom (Philip McGinley) decides that if Maria’s (Samia Smith) running business decisions by Tony (Gray O’Brien), he’ll run them by Luke (Craig Kelly). As Maria and Tony then meet to discuss Tom’s designs, Luke interrupts, revealing Tom’s asked him to provide his opinion. Tony is thunderous. Feeling a fool Maria decides to have it out with Tom.

Teresa (Karen Henthorn) paints Darryl (Jonathan Dixon) and Amber (Nikki Patel) a grim picture of the estate she’s been living in but Darryl remains unmoved. However when Amber sees Teresa preparing to sleep on Maxine’s bench she persuades Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) to let her stay in the flat again. Dev agrees, so long as Darryl moves in with her. It’s his chance to get Darryl from under his roof but will Darryl put living with Amber on hold for his wayward mum?

David (Jack P Shepherd) continues his ‘friendliness’ towards Gary (Mikey North) but is it all part of his master plan? Gail’s (Helen Worth) fooled but Joe’s (Reece Dinsdale) unsure. He doesn’t tackle it though as Joe’s got more on his mind with the increasing demands from Len (Conor Ryan) and the loan shark.

Elsewhere Jack (William Tarmey) is upset when three of his pigeons go missing and Poppy (Sophiya Haque) promises to keep Dev’s dirty little secret.

Friday 17 April 7.30pm

Peter (Chris Gascoyne) regards Ken (William Roache) with disgust as he makes breakfast for Deirdre (Anne Kirkbride). Still on tenterhooks waiting for his secret to be blown Ken berates Audrey (Sue Nicholls) for telling Peter about Martha. Audrey stands firm though reminding him it’s Deirdre he should be thinking of. Ken’s in turmoil and as Ted (Michael Byrne) consoles him over losing Martha he urges him to save his marriage. But is it too late for Ken and Deirdre?

Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) panics when Lisa (Ruth Alexander–Rubin) arrives at the shop claiming she can’t stop thinking about him. Dev tells her he’s back with Tara (Ayesha Dharker) but before he can get rid of her Tara comes in. Presuming Lisa’s there to see her it looks like Dev’s off the hook but when Tara insists they all go for a drink at the Rovers, Poppy‘s (Sophiya Haque) stunned to see the cosy threesome. As Dev begs an angry Lisa not to tell Tara the truth it looks like someone‘s about to beat her to it. Shocked by his nerve Poppy reveals that Dev and Lisa have been in the Rovers before and as more than friends.

Meanwhile Amber’s (Nikki Patel) unhappy that Darryl’s (Jonathan Dixon) moving out, aware Dev is trying to use the situation with Teresa (Karen Henthorn) to split them up. But it backfires when Amber suggests she move in with Darryl as well.

Maria (Samia Smith) and Tom (Philip McGinley) make-up but when Tony (Gray O’Brien) approaches with his ideas for the designs, Tom remains adamant he won’t find a better deal and storms off. Tony’s fed up of being bad-mouthed by Tom and warns him to stay away from Maria. Claiming she knows all about his stupid crush he reveals Maria wants him to back off. Tom’s thoroughly humiliated but has Tony done enough to scare off his rival?

Under pressure from the loan shark Joe (Reece Dinsdale) needs to get back to work but as he tries to get in his van he collapses in agony. Back inside Joe’s growing increasingly frustrated by his lack of mobility and eyes his painkillers longingly.

And Jack’s (William Tarmey) delighted when fellow pigeon lover Connie (Rita May) turns up on his doorstep with his missing bird Scarlett O’Hara.

Friday 17 April 8.30pm

Poppy’s (Sophiya Haque) expecting it all to go off but Tara (Ayesha Dharker) returns to Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) and Lisa (Ruth Alexander-Rubin) forcing a smile. Back at the flat she works to make them uncomfortable, then sending Dev to get wine she confronts Lisa about sleeping with him. Lisa’s honest about what happened but Tara throws her out. Dev returns and is pleased to find Lisa’s left. Presuming he’s now got away with it Dev’s keen to cover his tracks. But unbeknown to him Tara’s decided to give Dev one final chance to come clean. As she questions him about the night they split will Dev be honest about his indiscretion?

Deirdre (Anne Kirkbride) tells Ken (William Roache) that Tracy has asked to see Amy. Ken thinks they should wait until Amy’s older but Peter (Chris Gascoyne) disagrees, claiming it’s better being honest and open, a remark clearly intended for Ken. Battling his emotions Ken tells Peter he’s trying to salvage his marriage and asks for a little support. But will Peter let this one lie?

When Teresa (Karen Henthorn) spots Eddie (Steve Huison) in his cab she gives him an earful for what she sees as him stealing her home. But ever the opportunist she says he could make amends by helping her move into the flat. Eddie obliges but when they return to the street Teresa tips him ten pence, rather than pounds. Eddie realises he’s been duped.

Wanting to get back at Tony (Gray O’Brien), Tom (Philip McGinley) tells Luke (Craig Kelly) that Maria (Samia Smith) let slip that Tony’s having him followed. At first Luke doesn’t know what to think but he begins to feel paranoid about being watched.

Connie (Rita May) and Jack (William Tarmey) bond over tea. She‘s recently lost her spouse and has an interest in pigeons too.

To Coronation Street first this week, where there's quite a surprising turn of events in the Grimshaw household.

An inebriated Jason (Ryan Thomas) and Julie (Katy Cavanagh) find themselves revelling in each other's company and with their respective love lives having seemingly ground to a halt, Jason decides to take his chances with the blonde knicker-stitcher.

Taking her back to Number 11, the drunken pair share a kiss before Julie drags him upstairs.

What she doesn't know, however, is that Jason's actually her nephew.
