yes she did because he graped her ankle
I said no, but I'm still unsure whether it was murder. But self-defence? -defiantly not. What Zoe did was more self-defence but it was actually Chrissie that she was protecting.
Sure he grabbed her ankle but at that point he wasn't in a position to harm her. He had just been dealt with a huge blow to the head from Zoe so he was hardly going to get up and hit her. Those words 'you'll never get me out the Vic' had a lot to do with it but I genuinely believe that she acted on instinct rather than to kill him intentionally. Her initial intent was not to murder him, but to destroy him. However, when she hit him, in that split second I genuinely believe she wanted him dead. Also the aftermath was cold blood but not the fatal blow. :)

Not self defence as she had wanted him dead, she wanted him out of her life. He didn't attack her, she started it and he finnished it.
I'll be very interesed to see what other people thing, how they see things.

I was going to vote 'Yes' but after you said all that i've changed my mind!
I agree with you! but i still thing Chrissie did it on instinct, i mean if someone who you thought was dead just grabbed your ankle pulling you to the ground what would you do?
But even saying that, it was kid of self defence then, i've just confused myself, I Voted NOt Sure as for my reasons i have just stated,
But i don't think that Chrissie actually wanted Den dead what ever, but then when he was she learnt to live with it i mean she had to keep on top of Zoe and sam!

I don't think that it was in self defence.
The body has a mechanism that kicks in when it senses danger called the 'Fight or Flight' response. The purpose of this response is to enable to body to prepare to either fight a threat or run for safety. One of the changes that happens to the body is that the 'thinking' part of the brain is basically deactivated and the 'instinct' area of the brain is enabled. This is what I think happened to Chrissie. Her body sensed danger and immediatley made her act on instinct, which was to get away from danger without thinking of the consequences.
I agree with you there. It was based on instict but not self-defense. As for murder I am still unsure but certainly not-cold blooded, however what she Zoe and Sam did afterwards was. The logical thing would have been to call the police.
If this happens to anyone, call the police and tell them the truth -trust me! :rotfl:

I agree with you again, i think they should of just rang the police and just gone with :
'well you see Officer Den just came toward me and and and'
'Yes'
'well he was hitting me and bashing my head aginst the Fruity machine, i honestly thought he was goingt o kill me, but then then'
'Then'
'Zoe and sam pulled him off me and he fell back and hit his head on this'
Chrissie gives the police officer the doorstop!
Ok, i changed it a little but you no!!!!

Yeah I agree but Chrissie will have to admit to bashing him aswell because on the autopsy it will show that there were two strikes to head. If they kept stum about this it would look really bad in court, especially if all three were on the stand harping on about Zoe hitting him once and then the doctor says 'there were two blows to the head'.
These is every chance that she could go down for manslaughter, but in real life (because we know Chrissie will get away with it in eastenders :p ) it's better coming clean because at some point the police will find out and people can say what they like but in the eyes of the law they will see it as murder because the person buried the body and kept it to themselves.
i dont believe she did it in self defense more like panic. she got a shock an the first thing she thought to do was to hit him again!

i think it was one of them spare of the moment crimes that are always appearoing in the news where the person doesnt intend on killing themn but in the heat of the moment with the passions riising they do

it wasn't strictly totally panick... but she just did what she did to get free of him... if someone you thought was dead grabbed your ankles... i think i'd turn round and hit them with whatever was handy...

I'm not too sure if you could define it as self defence although I have voted yes. I think she feared for her life, after what had happened earlier in the evening she was scared. He'd already attacked her one and I think she lashed out. Technically this would be self defence but at the exact moment in time I just think she wanted him out of her life forever. And who can blame her!

i dont think it was murder as she didnt set out to kill him, it wasnt planned
In my opinion it was murder
I don't think she intended it to be murder but at the point he grabbed her ankle there was a brief moment where she wanted him dead.. you could see by the malice in her expression but I think afterward she was shocked she did it....

sorry but she was that shocked that instead of phoning an ambulance she bullied to other women into covering up for her,and threw him down the hole it's manslaugter at the very least
self defence...no way... he was half dead, he could barely do nethink to her
she was relived that zoe had "killed den", he was out of her life, she had the vic and a peacful life to look forward to...he needed to be dead after the events of that night
and besides if something like that happens youd be freaked out and wouldnt know what to do, it just happened, shock, fright who knows
all im syaing is its on of the best murders in eastenders history!

well i wasn't sure either untill i'd read what others had said and i agree it wasn't self defense... but she was scared... she thought he was dead... she just wanted to get away from him... she didn't deliberatly kill him...

She didn't deliberately kill him, but he would have killed her anyway so she had to defend herself.
