View Full Version : Jessie Wallace to return to EastEnders
EastEnders favourite Jessie Wallace is to make a sensational return to Albert Square.
The actress, who played feisty barmaid Kat Slater in the soap, has told friends she is heading back to Walford in the role that made her famous.
A BBC source revealed: “Jessie is very excited about playing Kat again. She’s been off screen for a few years and a lot has happened since she was last in the show.
“She feels the time is right for a return and says she can’t wait to get back into the Square and stuck into some meaty storylines.”
Former make-up artist Jessie shot to fame after winning the EastEnders role in 2000. She was one of four unknowns chosen to play the warring Slater sisters.
Kat became a huge hit with fans, winning a string of awards and becoming involved in several big storylines – most famously confessing to being the real mum of sister Zoe, played by Michelle Ryan.
Offscreen Jessie has had a turbulent personal life, including battles with drink and drugs, and quit the show in 2006. Her character Kat was last seen leaving for America with hubby Alfie Moon.
Earlier this week Jessie, 37, – who recently split from fiancé Tommy O’Neil, 25 – told GMTV’s Lorraine Kelly: “They’ve left the door open and I would go back. It’s a great show and I do miss it.”
Last night an EastEnders spokeswoman said there were no “immediate” plans to get Kat back but added: “Where big favourites like Kat are concerned, we would never say never.”

FANTASTIC news if this is true! Eastenders is really going from strength to strength atm. I just hope if she comes back, Alfie follows soon after!
Whoopy dooo. Yet another soap actor who discovered that they are a one trick pony makes a SENSATIONAL return after failing in the Big Wide World. Good job that the Beeb is funded by the Telly Tax so they can fund all these 'Stars'
:D Im glad to see her again, I really missed her

Hmm wonder if she will be bringing a baby with her?? Will Alfie show up or will they announce she and Alfie have broke up ?? Wheres Spencer in all this LOL
If it's true I'm definitely going to start watching again. I've missed Kat. When she and Alfie left after Chrissie it just started going downhill, for me atleast.
Hopefully it means Alfie will be coming back too :D

If you read the post it says she wants to come back and is ready to do so, the spokeswoman for EE, says no immediate plans - says it all really - not many get work after soaps.

if kat comes back, alfie needs to come back as well. it would be really pathetic to say theyd split up

It depends on how they would play it. If they had a whole episode written, maybe just with Kat and Charlie, where Kat could explain where it all went wrong, it could be really good. I think we have to remember that Kat and Alfie left Walford together over three years ago. Things would've happened and, more than likely, changed between them.
If they got Alfie to come back at the same time it could make things a little boring. Kat coming back on her own could be very interesting..

It would be nice to see Kat back maybe visiting Mo and Charlie but not full time without Alfie

I wouldn't mind her back but please NOT Alfie, it'd just be the same old Kalfie crap all over again.

Why not have a spin-off from EE with all the ex-enders who need a job but are too proud to admit they were stupid to leave the soap in the first place. Nothing against Jessie personally but time has moved on there is not a place for her anymore.

I didn't think she quit but was written out because Alfi left.:searchme:
But I would love to see her back. She could have a good interaction with Stacey.

I thought Alfie and Kat left together in the back of an old car LOL I would love to see them back, and with a baby..
I would like to see Kat a bit more "settled " . Alfie would do great at the VIC.:p His one liners were funny and ge got on so well with Peggy
Actually bringing Kat back would mean bringing all the Slater girls back in order to make a decent story line ??:hmm:

EE doesn't need another mad woman running around the square screaming like a banshee there's too many of them already. What the square needs is more hunky men. Bring back Pat's step-son Nathan we need some tottie other than Jack.
Nathan, David and Joe wicks... fine fine men
