TV presenter Ben Fogle has revealed that he is facing chemotherapy after learning that a rare flesh-eating disease that he contracted in Peru has returned.
The former Castaway contestant, 35, caught leishmaniasis last year after being bitten by a species of sand-fly during filming for his BBC2 reality series Extreme Dreams.
Speaking to The Daily Telegraph, he said: "I am facing six weeks of chemotherapy and going to hospital for several hours a day to be put on drips to treat the condition. I am really frustrated as I am normally so active."
Fogle reportedly admitted that his 495-mile expedition to the South Pole in December could have affected his recovery, which is normally expected to take months.
However, he insisted that he would be well enough to launch his book about the trek in person at the Cheltenham Literary Festival in June.
 I hope he is going to be ok
