EMMERDALE actor Luke Tittensor will face a court today over claims he broke a man’s jaw in a brawl.

The star, 18 — who plays farmhand Daz Eden in the ITV1 soap — faces up to five years in jail if found guilty.

Tittensor was arrested in February after the incident in Rochdale town centre. It is claimed that the victim was hit by missiles thrown from a car Tittensor was travelling in.

The victim responded verbally, before the actor got out of the car and punched him, it is alleged.

Tittensor — who denies grievous bodily harm — appears at Bolton Crown Court today.

Emmerdale star Luke Tittensor has pleaded guilty to assaulting a 16-year-old boy in relation to an incident that occurred last year.

The actor, 19, who plays Daz Eden in the ITV1 soap, admitted inflicting grievous bodily harm on the unnamed teenager in Rochdale, Lancashire, on February 15.

Appearing at Bolton Crown Court, Tittensor spoke only to confirm his name, address and to enter his plea.

The victim, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, was forced to undergo corrective surgery after fracturing his jaw in the attack, which is thought to have taken place near a taxi rank in the city.

Prosecutor Mark Ford had told the court that the teenager had needed a "metal plate and screws inserted into the bone in order to repair the damage inflicted".

Tittensor was granted unconditional bail and his sentencing was scheduled for April 29.

How long do you think he will get, because they have built up this storyline, between him and Victoria, so I know he is being written out, but it was stated 'temporarily', so him pleading guilty, will this effect it or have no effect to anything.:hmm:

I imagine that his temporay exit will be written in such a way that he can disappear from Emmerdale with a more or less reasonable explanation.

Yeah, it could be true, but now i'm hearing that he changed his story last minute, and he faces being sacked from Emmerdale, whether this is true, I don't know.

I wonder what way he will be written out, because I am liking this storyline at the moment.

If he inflicted s20 SBH then the maximum sentence is about 5 years in jail, but i suppose first offence, pleading guilty, probably get a community order or a fine aybe, who knows its up to the judge

Can you get community service for GBH??? I always thought you had to do time, it does depend on the Judge though

He should be sacked or suspended by Emmerdale. Ben Freeman was suspended while awaiting trial for the rape trial that he was later cleared off, but Luke has admitted his guilt whether he is given a prison sentence or not he should be fired.

Ex-Emmerdale actor Luke Tittensor was today handed a two-year suspended sentence for causing grievous bodily harm.

The 19-year-old - who admitted to inflicting GBH on a 16-year-old in February last year - appeared at Bolton Crown Court this afternoon where he was sentenced to nine months in prison suspended for two years.

The sentence also included 200 hours' unpaid work with an order to pay £1,000 compensation and £1,100 costs.

The unnamed Rochdale teenager suffered a broken jaw in the incident and was forced to undergo corrective surgery.

Judge Lindsey Kushner QC said: "You look like a responsible young man. You behaved like so many of the louts that we see before us in these courts. You are 19 years of age but ostensibly more mature than most 19-year-olds because you have been living in the public eye since you were a child."

He continued: "I have to demonstrate to the public that whether you are famous or whether you are unknown, the court has to take a dim view of this behaviour. This poor boy has suffered a full assault, serious injury, surgery, and he is generous enough to say all he wants you to do is accept your responsibility, which in fact you have."

He added: "Goodness knows what happened. I don't know if you were a victim of your own inflated view on that day, I don't know. Can there be an end to this, please?"

The attack took place after a drinks carton was thrown at the victim from the car Tittensor was travelling in. The car initially left the scene, before returning to the victim who, according to prosecuting solicitor Mark Ford, was subsequently struck "without warning or provocation".

Mr Ford added: "The force of that blow caused him to fall to the ground and the defendant then stamped on the face of his victim as he lay prone."

Last week, ITV soap Emmerdale took the decision to axe Tittensor from the show due to the serious nature of the offence.
