CBS is piloting a new reality project which will combine fitness with trivia knowledge, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The pilot - titled The Whole 19 Yards - will see contestants race an intense obstacle course, then answer trivia questions.

The one-hour reality show will be hosted by Chris Hardwick, who has previously co-hosted Attack Of The Show.

Earlier this month, CBS announced plans to pilot a reality show titled America's Strongest American.

Vernon Kay and Caroline Flack have been named the hosts of new ITV1 gameshow The Whole 19 Yards.

Filming is due to begin soon on the show, which combines quiz questions with physical challenges.

A source told The Mirror: "It's a huge hit in the US so they're hoping it follows suit here."

After the format was launched in the US by CBS last year, reports claim that ITV intends to follow the success of Total Wipeout on rival channel BBC One.

There was speculation earlier in the week that Kay might be replaced on the project after the former male model's private life made front page headlines.

Kay, who hosts ratings juggernaut All Star Family Fortunes, was the presenter of Beat the Star, which was axed last year after two series.

Meanwhile, Flack impressed executives with her performance on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here Now! on ITV2, which saw a ratings boost this year.
