Madonna is expected to release a greatest hits compilation in early autumn.
The disc will be the singer's final album with Warner Records after she reportedly signed a $120 million (£86.6m) deal with concert promoter Live Nation.
"We're hoping to have a greatest hits package come out in September, we're all very excited about it," her publicist Liz Rosenberg told People.
The star is expected to record a number of new tracks to be included on the collection.
"Madonna does have plans to go into the studio to record a few new songs for this album," Rosenberg added.
Meanwhile, fans of the singer were asked to choose their favourite records to include on the LP.
"Working on Madonna's greatest hits album. Any tracks that you think must be on?" manager Guy Oseary wrote on his Twitter account.
"Thank you to everyone that gave me their pick of song ideas for Madonna's greatest hits.. i will pass along all your thoughts," he later added.
Madonna has previously released two singles collections, The Immaculate Collection in 1990 and GHV2 in 2001.

"Broken"
It's also rumored that the greatest hits set might be called 'Celebrate madonna or madonna Celebrate'.
And of course,"Revolver" is the other new song produced by Frank E.This song will definitely be onthe greatest hits set and one of the Oakenfold tracks listed above.
A second person has died after sustaining injuries following the collapse of a stage being built for Madonna in France.
The victim, believed to be a British man who worked on the set, had been rushed to intensive care after the accident left him in a critical condition yesterday.
A French worker was killed immediately after a partially-built roof collapsed at the Velodrome stadium in Marseilles.
It is believed that eight others were injured in the incident, with five still in a serious condition in hospital.
Yesterday, Madonna released a statement expressing her "deepest sympathy" for those affected by the tragedy.
The Queen Of Pop's 'Sticky and Sweet' concert, which had been scheduled to take place on Sunday night, has been cancelled.

Madonna's daughter Lourdes has been lined up to make an appearance in the singer's upcoming music video, reports Entertainment Tonight.
The 12-year-old, whose father is fitness trainer Carlos Leon, will reportedly feature in the promo for 'Celebration', which will be released at the end of next month.
According to fansite Madonnatribe, the video was filmed recently in Milan and was helmed by long-time Madonna collaborator Jonas Akerlund.
The star will release her new Greatest Hits (http://www.soapboards.co.uk/music/a166851/madonna-reveals-greatest-hits-details.html) album, also called Celebration, later this year, alongside a DVD featuring her most popular hits.
It was previously reported (http://www.soapboards.co.uk/showbiz/a140197/lourdes-desperate-to-become-actress.html) that Lourdes was "desperate to become an actress" and had joined Manhattan's Professional Children's School to help further her career. i wonder how much that will cost a term!! :D

I'd forgot about American Pie, i actually like that one. I dunno there seems to be A LOT of her older stuff (which is great, but theres at least a dozen songs on there ive not heard of, and im a big Madonna fan) if she wants the albumn to sell well with younger fans you'd think she'd chuck in a few more of her recent ones.
The only ones I don't know is miles away and Revolver (I don't have hard candy yet and revolver is new) all the rest are on her other CDs

The first half of Erotica is amazing (I say first half cause I lived in the day of cassettes when you had to turn them over to get the second half).. and if anyone really wants to know the genius of Madonna, I highly recommend Bedtime stories... one of my favourite of hers

I guess I am lucky to have been at a great age when Madonna came out (I was 12) and I have seen her transform over the years.. she never ever fails to amaze me with her re-inventions.. I have seen others try and fail but she gets stronger and stronger each time she comes back.. Love her or loath her, you have got to admit she is damn good at what she does

Meanwhile, Dizzee Rascal scores his highest position yet on the chart after entering at three with fourth LP Tongue N' Cheek.
Mika also debuts inside the top five, landing at four with second studio set The Boy Who Knew Too Much. His debut, Life In Cartoon Motion, topped the chart upon its February 2007 release.
