George Michael can expect to be paid £1.5 million to perform at private gigs, new figures have revealed.

Recently published accounts show that the 'Careless Whisper' singer was given a six-figure sum on two occasions in recent times.

Michael was paid £1.6 million ($2.2 million) for a 13-song set at a private party for Russian nickel magnate Vladimir Potanin in December 2006, the Daily Mail claims.

The star was also handed £1.52 million ($2.1 million) to sing at the 55th birthday of retail tycoon Sir Philip Green.

Despite the payments, Michael reportedly insists on being flown to the shows by private plane and jets off as soon as he finishes performing.

According to the newspaper, he amassed a fortune of £48.8 million ($67.2 million) from touring between April 2006 and March 2008.

Definitely out of Heather Trott's price range
