THE very last episode of Countdown to be shot in Leeds will be filmed next month before the quiz's move to Manchester.
April 22 looks likely to be the emotional final day in the Yorkshire city for the show which has been filmed there since it began in 1982.

Dictionary Corner regular GylesBrandreth said: "There will be tears and anxiety too."

The switch comes after ITV bosses decided to mothball the studio making up to 150 people redundant.

Gyles added: "The staff are facing the horrors of redundancy in lots of cases - the worry of whether to move from Leeds to Manchester in others. Change ain't easy."

Filming with host Jeff Stelling and Rachel Riley will resume in Manchester later this year.

RESIDENTS of Stamford, Connecticut are threatening legal action over plans to move filming of the Jerry Springer Show to the city.

The trash TV talk show is currently filmed in Chicago and Stamford priest Monsignor Stephen DiGiovanni is talking to lawyers to stop the switch.

He said: "Some parishioners don't think this is the right place for it. I'm not very thrilled about it.Springer is making millions on other people's misery and stereotypes."

Other locals disagree as Stamford will receive £2.1m in state investment if Springer does come to town.
