Noel Gallagher has revealed that he would love to be asked to appear on Coronation Street to punch David Platt in the face.

Speaking to Jo Whiley this afternoon on Radio One, the 41-year-old Oasis guitarist admitted that he is a regular viewer of the ITV soap with his wife Sara MacDonald, before jokingly questioning why he's never been asked to film a cameo appearance.

He said: "It's such an institution...I love it. Why they've never asked me to be in it is really one of the scandals of our age!

"I could just have a walk-on part. A little, tiny part. Preferably punching David Platt's face in. And then go onto his mum."

Despite only wanting a bit-part role, Gallagher suggested that he could kill off the teen tearaway while he's there.

He added: "If David Platt's going to be bumped off, please let it be me."

I don't like him :angry:
