The Bill home page Sergeant Stone (Sam Callis) arrives at the scene of a reported theft where he talks to suspect Julia Sindell (Laura Doddington), who appears frightened and dazed. He soon realises that Julia isn’t a thief but a victim of domestic violence and is crying out for help.
Stone tries to draw the truth out of Julia, but she begs him to take her home. Helping Julia out of the patrol car, Stone meets her husband Paul (Shaun Smith) and his friend, Tom Holland (Miles Harrison) who sarcastically comments that he knows DI Neil Manson (Andrew Lancel) very well.
Back at the station, Neil is interested to hear that Tom is back in town and thinks that he and Paul could be up to their old tricks and planning another robbery. Later, Julia goes to the station and finally opens up to Stone about the escalating violence at home, but she’s too scared to give an official statement. Stone talks to Neil and tells him that Julia has admitted there is a meeting taking place at her house later that day where Paul and Tim’s associates will be coming along. Neil agrees that something big is about to happen and agrees to an obbo, with Julia’s help.
Opposite Julia’s house, Trainee DC Will Fletcher (Gary Lucy) and DS Max Carter (Christopher Fox) discreetly take pictures of Tom, Paul and their associates. A terrified Julia walks in on the group when they are discussing their plans for an armed robbery and when she spills their drinks, a furious Paul drags her out of the room. Will and Max realise they don’t have much time before the armed robbery takes place and start making preparations. Stone is concerned that no-one has heard from Julia since the meeting finished and when he is forced to break down the front door, he finds her badly beaten.
At the hospital, Julia tearfully tells Stone that Paul lashed out at her after spilling their drinks. Stone tells her that CID are working on intercepting the robbery Paul has arranged and she asks Stone to tell her as soon as he’s been arrested.
Back at the station, officers are briefed about the robbery and as Max and Will leave the station, an angry Stone tells Max that he sacrificed Julia for his own gain. As Max walks away, the Sergeant asks a wary Will to give him the heads up before Paul’s arrest, as he is determined that Paul gets what he deserves.
