View Full Version : Problems with typing on new laptop
Got a new laptop, a compaq. I find typing on it quite difficult as the keys are not as light touch as on my Acer, half the letters are missing and I have never needed spelll check as much in my life. Anybody else have had this experience?

no, although since having a laptop ive found that the keyboards you get with desktop computers are really odd, i dont like how the keys stick up so much anymore lol!
Perhaps the keys are a bit sticky because the laptop is new :searchme: *grasps at straw*
It takes a while getting used to a new laptop. I have a macbook, I have found that the z doesn't work if you touch type - you need to really hit that letter to get it to register.
I took it for granted that this problem was normal, however part of the casing of my laptop cracked while it was still under warranty and I got it fixed on Saturday last week. They had to replace the whole keyboard and now the z works perfectly - there was obviously a problem with it before that I had just accepted as normal.
Thanks for your post. I am sure the laptop is not cracked anywhere although I shall have a good look when I get home, as it came through the postal service from Amazon. But I agree with you, I probably need to hit the keys a little harder and will get used to it in time.
