Home And Away star Celeste Dodwell is planning to quit the series later this year to study drama in London, reports TV Week.

Dodwell, 19, joined the soap as Melody Jones in March last year, describing it as "a dream come true".

"I was actually driving at the time! And I saw my agent’s phone number come up on my phone screen and I just hastily pulled over to the side of the road to answer," she told the official Home And Away website.

"It was a dream come true to get a role on Home And Away, so I accepted right away and I was just over the moon!"

Talk of Dodwell’s departure comes just days after it was announced that her co-star Conrad Coleby is to leave the series following a decision by producers that the character had run his course.

She should be leaving at the end of this week in the UK.

Her first stint last year was good. I also enjoyed her when she came back in the clinic and all that. Melody is a good character and had lots of potential, shame the script writers made her go off the rails.

I sometimes wtach the omnibus edition on Fiver on a Saturday. That must be the UK version?

Yep, it is. It also shows the first episode of the next week too.

Which channel shows the Oz version? I occasionally see bits of an episode during the week, I get confused about storylines. I take it that the two versions are not too far apart time wise.

Channel Seven in Australia shows the current Aus episodes.

The UK are ten episodes (two weeks) behind Aus and Ireland are 11/12 (I think) eps behind. Of course on Bank Holidays the gap will widen as Five don't shows H&A.

Thanks. I thought that the Oz epis might be shown on UK tv other than on C5 or Fiver but I obviously got that wrong. (Not unusual for me :()
