Luke (Craig Kelly) is enjoying lording it over Tony (Gray O’Brien) and constantly reminding him who is the boss and when a client comes in Luke schmoozes him with some football tickets winding Tony up even more. When Luke announces that the client has increased his order by 50% Tony is irritated even more by Luke’s confidence. The day goes from bad to worse when Tony is forced to do a double take when he spots Rosie (Helen Flanagan) wearing Carla’s cardigan and he has to rush out of the factory to regain his composure. Angry that Luke has put him in this position he decides to hire a private investigator to find out a little bit more about his new business partner. Meanwhile Natasha (Rachel Leskovac) is delighted when Tony asks her round to his flat for a drink.

Maria (Samia Smith) is also feeling the effects of Carla’s bid to rid herself of the past when she receives a letter saying she has handed over her share of Ladrags to Maria, she’s unsure about accepting but realizes she needs the security for her baby.

Peter (Chris Gascoyne) has started the day with whisky for breakfast and is less than impressed when he discovers that Michelle has gone off to Ireland to look after her sick mum. Deirdre (Anne Kirkbride) is concerned about his drinking but he tells her to back off and insists he can handle it.

Tara (Ayesha Dharker) has yet to sell a piece of artwork and Umed (Harish Patel) reckons Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) is being taken for a ride but Dev continues to defend Tara and her gallery despite having private misgivings.

Bill (Peter Armitage) is worried when Audrey (Sue Nicholls) tells him she wants the money back from the builder’s yard. With business slow Bill doesn’t know how he is going to find the 7.5K to pay her back.

Monday, 23 March 2009, 8:30PM - 9:00PM

Natasha (Rachel Leskovac) and Tony (Gray O’Brien) are enjoying a drink and things start to get passionate but the ghost of Carla threatens to spoil the evening and the mood is broken. Natasha tries to quiz Tony about her but he’s not keen to discuss it so she’s surprised when as she’s about to leave the mood changes and he makes it very clear he wants her to stay.

Bill (Peter Armitage) tells Jason (Ryan Thomas) that he can only afford to use him on a casual basis from now on as he has to pay Audrey (Sue Nicholls) back. Jason is gutted and angry with Audrey.

Tom (Philip McGinley) is peeved to discover that Maria (Samia Smith) now owns 75% of Ladrags and tries to convince her that they don’t need Tony’s advice anymore. But Maria disagrees and tells him that she values Tony’s help.

Tara (Ayesha Dharker) is gutted that there is no review of her art gallery in the Gazette – Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) tries to comfort her but for Uncle Umed (Harish Patel) it is further proof that Dev is being taken for a fool.

Peter (Chris Gascoyne) is continuing to drink heavily and rants to Tyrone (Alan Halsall) about Michelle swanning off to Ireland.

Wednesday 25 March 7.30pm

Natasha (Rachel Leskovac) is all loved up after a night of passion with Tony (Gray O’Brien) but it is clear that he can’t wait to get rid of her. Natasha boasts in the salon about her night at Tony’s and Maria (Samia Smith) is surprised to find herself slightly put out by the idea. Later Tony comes round to see her and as they chat there is a closeness and ease that hadn’t previously been there. But when Maria asks him to put his hand on her stomach and he feels the baby kick he suffers a panic attack.

Chesney (Sam Aston) gets a letter from school addressed to Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) and he tries to hide it but he needn’t have worried as Fiz is otherwise distracted by a letter from John Stape. She feigns disinterest but it is obvious she is affected by it.

Peter (Chris Gascoyne) needs to palm Simon (Alexander Bain) off on Deirdre (Anne Kirkbride) so he can spend the afternoon drinking – he tells her he wants to clean the flat but when she returns with Simon it is clear he hasn’t done much tidying. She hides her concern but after she has gone Peter falls and bangs his head scaring poor Simon. Peter tries to lighten the mood but it is clear he is not fit to care for a child.

Ken (William Roache) spends a lovely few hours with Martha (Stephanie Beacham) and she invites him to the theatre the following evening and suggests he stay the night. Ken is immediately uncomfortable and guilt ridden but Martha feels foolish believing she has rushed things.

Friday 27 March 7.30pm

Deirdre (Anne Kirkbride) is struggling to cope with the situation at Peter’s and moans to Blanche (Maggie Jones) that she could do with some support from Ken (William Roache). She takes Simon back to the flat and discovers all his empty whisky bottles, Peter (Chris Gascoyne) returns to find her going through his things and is furious demanding she leave. But Deirdre refuses until he can prove to her that Simon is safe in his care.

Meanwhile Ken (William Roache) and Martha (Stephanie Beacham) are enjoying an afternoon aboard the boat and Ken is still managing to side step some tricky questions about his home life.

Maria (Samia Smith) and Tom (Philip McGinley) make friends after Tom apologises for suggesting that Tony (Gray O’Brien) might fancy her.

Elsewhere Julie (Katy Carmichael) is worried that she might be pregnant but Kirk (Andrew Whyment) is excited at the prospect.

Friday 27 March 8.30pm

Tony (Gray O’Brien), Maria (Samia Smith), Natasha (Rachel Leskovac) and Tom (Philip McGinley) have a drink together and Maria can’t help getting irrationally annoyed when Natasha flirts with Tony. When Tony says he needs an early night Natasha is disappointed but Tony changes his mind and calls her to invite her round. When she arrives dressed to the nines Tony is impressed but intrigued when Natasha says Maria has warned her off him.

Ken (William Roache) and Martha (Stephanie Beacham) enjoy an intimate glass of wine on the barge. Ken is oblivious to the crisis back home and the urgent message on his phone from Deirdre. Meanwhile Peter (Chris Gascoyne) and Deirdre (Anne Kirkbride) have the mother of all rows which results in her threatening to call social services. Peter backs down and lets her take Simon to number 1. As an oblivious Ken arrives home however Peter storms into the house and takes Simon insisting that Ken and Deirdre are the ones who have been drinking and he is sober.

Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) is worried about Tara (Ayesha Dharker) and gets Minnie (Poppy Jhakra) to phone her masquerading as an art dealer. Minnie unwittingly finds herself agreeing to buy 3 pieces of art for £700.

Sally (Sally Whittaker) and Kevin (Michael Le Vell) invite Molly (Vicky Binns) and Tyrone (Alan Halsall) for dinner and Sally is put out when Molly reveals she’d like to pay a more active role in the business.
