Angus Deayton has reportedly been given the boot from the new series of Hell's Kitchen following a series of arguments with Marco Pierre White.
ITV executives were forced to decide between the two personalities after their relationship soured beyond repair at the end of the last series.
A source told the Daily Mail that a new host will be in place when the cookery programme returns in April.
"Marco and Angus never got on and now Angus has been axed from the show," the source said. "He is seething but Granada realised they basically had to choose between him and Marco. At the end of the day, Marco's the star of the show and the bigger personality."
Deayton and White were reportedly involved in a number of verbal spats while making the last series, rendering their relationship icy. The source added: "Angus tried to make the peace at the end of shooting but Marco was having none of it and told Angus he had nothing to say to him."
Deayton was fired from hosting BBC news quiz Have I Got News For You in 2002, following a series of revelations about his personal life.
