Former Hollyoaks actors Matt Littler and Darren Jeffries are to host a new 4Music chart battle show.
The programme, titled The Versus Chart, will attempt to determine who is better in a series of themed episodes, including Britney Spears vs. Christina Aguilera, U2 vs. Coldplay and Girls Aloud vs. Sugababes.
Littler and Jeffries will both take a side in each battle and offer a commentary as a selection of the acts' music videos are broadcast.
The 12-part series, which will be produced by Box TV, launches in a 9pm slot on 4Music next month.
"4Music is all about taking a new perspective with music and using this to deliver fresh programming," Box TV programmes director Dave Young explained. "Music is at the heart of everything we do and what better way to tap into that that to pit head to head some of the best and brightest pop artists that are out there?
"These artists each have a major following in their own right - and we wanted to find a way to bring this showcase to bear for our audiences."
Littler and Jeffries, who played Max Cunningham and Sam 'O.B' O'Brien respectively on Hollyoaks, have previously fronted Channel 4's coverage of the V Festival.
