PC Yvonne Hemmingway (Michele Austin) is devastated when she is informed by Superintendent Adam Okaro (Cyril Nri) that she is suspended from duty, pending further investigation, due to the death of Lee Thomas as a result of her hitting him with her asp. It remains to be seen whether it was defence or revenge…
As one goes out, another comes in, when Yvonne’s best friend PC Honey Harman (Kim Tiddy) pleas to Inspector Gina Gold (Roberta Taylor) to allow her to retract her resignation are granted.
But Honey’s heartache is far from over… she visits Scott in jail, and tells him she is prepared to stand by her man till death do they part. Has Scott taken her words literally when he tries to take his own life again? Will he succeed this time?
Following Yvonne’s suspension there is uncertainty among the relief as to what constitutes reasonable force when apprehending a suspect. This is compounded when PC Leela Kapoor (Seema Bowri) is accused of assaulting a man. Is he an opportunist latching on to local media accusations or have Sun Hill coppers gone truncheon crazy?
Seems not, when PC Tony Stamp (Graham Cole) later hesitates to use his asp and is beaten to within an inch of his life. Will Tony pull through?
Elsewhere, DC Zain Nadir (TJ Ramini) is ruffling more than feathers when he agrees to a stint in CID before his next undercover job in a couple of months’ time, and a funeral wreath with the letters RIP is left in his car. It looks like Zain might soon ‘sleep with the fishes'.

PC Tony Stamp (Graham Cole) is in St Hugh’s hospital recovering from a savage beating after hesitating to use his asp when confronted by local youths.
With PC Yvonne Hemmingway (Michele Austin) suspended, Tony in hospital and PC Gabriel Kent (Todd Carty) and PC Roger Valentine (John Bowler) chastised for using their CS spray in a volatile situation, Sergeant June Ackland (Trudie Goodwin) decides to make a stand. How will Superintendent Adam Okaro (Cyril Nri) react when he finds out that June is leading the relief on a strike?
Meanwhile, DCI Jack Meadows (Simon Rouse) does his best to reign in DC Zain Nadir (TJ Ramini) after the latter reluctantly admits that he has received a death threat. Jack orders Zain to remain desk bound for a while but maverick Zain drags PC Lance Powell (Ofo Uhiara) on an unauthorised mission, and the two are held at gunpoint by a big time gangster.
Jack leads the cavalry to their rescue, then tells Zain if he can conform there is a job for him in CID. Will Jack be made to hit the road for his recruitment decision?
DS Phil Hunter (Scott Maslen) receives the shocking news that Kate Maltby (Tamsin Skan) has been rushed to hospital and might lose their baby.
PC Dan Casper (Chris Jarvis) and Rochelle Barratt (Anna Acton) steal a secret snog, but there is trouble for there is trouble ahead for the two-timing temptress when Dan receives a letter in the internal mail which confirms that someone knows about their affair? But who?
