2505: Calvin comes clean with Carmel
Airs on Friday, February 27 2009 at 18:30 GMT on Channel 4
A frantic Carmel desperately searches for Calvin who ran off after seeing Nige. She walks in on Sasha accessorising bags and a sullen Lauren indulging in some heart wrenching poetry. They're soon silenced and quickly realise all is not well.
When Calvin returns, Carmel asks the girls for some space and demands an explanation from Calvin. Calvin steels himself and eventually admits the dreadful truth about the night he thought he'd killed Nige. As his words come tumbling out, Carmel realises the past months have all been lies and backs away, unable to look him in the eye. Unwilling to be alone with Calvin, Carmel insists that Lauren comes back and reads her poem to them all. Silence resumes once she's finished and the girls disappear leaving her alone with the man she thought she knew.
Struggling to get her head around the deceit, Carmel listens with horror at Calvin's involvement in Warren's dark world and realises her husband is a bent copper. A devastated Calvin reels when Carmel tells him she can never trust him again.
Malachy attempts to cheer up Mercedes after the discovery of Dom's relationship with Loretta. Il Gnosh strains under the pressure of three strong willed females on a mission and Dom is left to wonder how it all got so complicated…
As Mercedes and Cindy bicker over free coffees and cakes, Malachy throws the cat amongst the pigeons by suggesting they take advantage of Dom's absence and fix the order numbers, enabling them to sell meat on the sly and make a profit. Sniffing a good profit-making scam, the girls are soon on board. Loretta's sick of the hassle from Cindy and Mercedes and flees. Dom follows her back to the flat and is devastated when she tells him she's not sure he's ready for a relationship with her and maybe it's time to call it a day.
Returning to Gnosh, Dom has a go at Mercedes and Cindy for their treatment of Loretta and tells them exactly how he feels about her. Unaware Loretta's stood behind him listening to every word, they fall back into each other's arms, while a fed up Mercedes watches on with a bag full of meat.
Leila's looking forward to cooking Justin dinner, but her mood is dampened when Ash insists he's cooking for Hannah too. Diffusing the situation, Hannah suggests they both cook, leaving her and Justin to enjoy being waited on by the Roy siblings. Ash isn't convinced about Leila's relationship with Justin and isn't frightened of telling her how he feels about him. Defending her man, Leila assures him that they're soul mates, while upstairs, Hannah and Justin reminisce about their childhoods.
As the couples chat between themselves, Hannah's given food for thought about her relationship with Ash after he bitchily states that Justin isn't good enough to go out with his sister and can never give her what she really wants.
Warren's unaware of Calvin's discovery that Nige is alive and well and about how close he is to facing Calvin's wrath. Just as Calvin's about to enter the Loft, Carmel pulls him back, wanting to know what's going on. An oblivious Warren goes about his business, ignorant of the time bomb that's slowly ticking away under his nose.
