AY, Caramba! The Simpsons venture into SPACE after their settee goes missing in the first complete overhaul of the show’s opening credits in almost 20 years.
Creator Matt Groening updated the sequence to mark the switch to HD format.
Like in the 1989 original, it starts with the clouds parting over Springfield but Homer and Marge now own a flat-screen TV and Bart writes out the lines “HDTV is worth every cent”.
But when the yellow family find their orange sofa missing they end up chasing it through the canals of Venice and even travelling into space to get it back.
