SOAP superbitch Heather Locklear may be set for a comeback in a revamped version of her Nineties hit Melrose Place.
The former Dynasty actress, 47, was the undisputed star of the original hit series as scheming vixen Amanda Woodward.

US TV bosses now want to bring back the drama after successfully reviving Beverly Hills 90201 — which spawned Melrose Place as a spin off.

Original 90210 stars Jennie Garth and Shannen Doherty have both reignited their careers by appearing in the new version, seen here on E4.

Their success has sparked hopes Heather will be part of the new Melrose for US network CW.

The star made news last year when she went into rehab for depression.

The new series will centre on a character called David Patterson, the son of original show heart-breaker Jake who was played by Grant Show.

ASHLEE Simpson-Wentz has landed a part in the remake of US TV smash Melrose Place.

The singer and actress, whose big sis is Jessica Simpson, will play small-town girl Violet, who comes to LA with a secret.

Ashlee, 24, who gave birth to son Bronx Mowgli last year, will join Katie Cassidy and Michael Rady in the new version of the 90s show, being made by US channel CW.

She and her rocker hubby Pete Wentz will also guest star in an episode of cop drama CSI: NY as a Bonnie-and-Clyde-like couple who get caught up in a drug deal gone bad.

One person who won't be moving back into Melrose Place? Heather Locklear. The actress -- who played the key role of Amanda Woodward on the original series -- has turned down an offer to join the cast of the CW's update of the hit Fox serial, EW has learned. "There wasn't a way to bring her back that made sense," says a source close to the situation. While the network and studio won't comment, her reps do confirm that Locklear has passed. It's no secret that the CW was aggressively pursuing Locklear and will likely want to secure another star from the original show. The reboot, which is slated for the fall, has already cast Ashlee Simpson-Wentz, Jessica Lucas, Michael Rady, and Katie Cassidy.
