Bless him being so persistent. At least Tesco agreed to that meeting at the end and realised he was actually serious.

Though I can't believe Tesco charging him 88,000 and then saying he needs 75% of the vote. As he said, moving the goalposts a bit!

Freedom food chickens are an improvement and a better option for people on a budget, although I stick to my views and will always buy free range. Even if I do have to go vegetarian through University. :p

I didnt watch it, what was he basically doing?

He was trying to get Tesco to stop selling standard chickens and get them to sell freedom birds as their lowest welfare standard bird. The difference being that in a freedom shed they have natural light, objects to peck and bales of hay to perch on, as well as there being half the number of chickens so more space for them. The price differences between the two birds is 90p because freedom birds take 2 weeks longer to grow.

He was basically saying that other supermarkets have scrapped standard method of growing chickens, why hasn't Tecso.

Also that Tesco were not being honest about it as their packaging implied that their chickens were reared to the higher welfare standards.

Wasn't that public relations woman from Tesco just awful?:thumbsdow

So Tesco is the only bad supermarket if you like for chickens?

im sure its all supermarkets not just tesco's. the one problem i have is that lots of people are living on a tight budget and just cannot afford a free range chicken, have you seen the prices lately?

thats true, but the supermarkets and farmers etc dont have to charge as much as they do for them. tbh id rather go without and buy something else than buy non free range stuff
