CORRIE love birds Hayley and Roy Cropper's onscreen wedding has been voted the best in the soap's history according to a new poll.
The affable transsexual, played by Julie Hesmondhalgh, wed partner Roy Cropper (David Neilson) in a low-key blessing in his greasy spoon, Roy's Rolls, in 1999 after finding a female vicar who would honour the service.
Sixty-three per cent of people cast Hayley and Roy's service as their favourite Corrie wedding in the poll conducted by Printworks, with Ken and Deirdre's wedding gaining 22 per cent of the vote and Raquel and Curly's nuptials coming third with 10 per cent.
Meanwhile, the Weatherfield-based show will celebrate its 7000th episode today.
