Kevin Federline has denied reports that he is going to appear on Dancing With The Stars.

Britney Spears's ex-husband was recently linked to the eighth season of the ABC dance contest.

However, the former backing dancer's representative told Hollyscoop that the rumours are "not true".

Dancing With The Stars returns in March and a lineup announcement is expected soon. Donny Osmond accidentally revealed that he would be appearing on the reality series during an interview on The Bonnie Hunt Show earlier this week.

Donny Osmond has clarified speculation that he will be appearing on Dancing With The Stars.

According to E! News, the singer accidentally let slip during a taping for The Bonnie Hunt Show that he would be competing in the forthcoming eighth season.

However, speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Osmond insisted that he was only considering an appearance and that "no official offer" had been made.

"I'm definitely not doing this upcoming season," he said.

"If there was an offer on the table, I'd do it in the Fall. I would make room for it. Absolutely!"

Osmond's older sister Marie finished in third place in the fifth season of the ABC show.

The co-host of the US version of 'Strictly Come Dancing', 'Dancing with the Stars', has revealed that Hugh Jackman would be her ideal contestant on the show.

Asked by TV Guide who she wanted on the dancefloor, Samantha Harris said: "Hugh Jackman, hands down.

"He's a song and dance man. He's a Broadway guy. He's got charisma and you know he can move."

Harris also revealed what happened when she suggested the idea to Jackman.

"He actually twirled and dipped me. I was so excited," she said. "That made my year."

The dance contest, which is hosted by Tom Bergeron and Samantha Harris, will kick off in the US on March 9.

Melissa Rycroft (yes, the one who was dumped by Jason Mesnick on the controversial season finale of The Bachelor) has been tapped to replace injured Access Hollywood host Nancy O'Dell on Dancing With the Stars, People.com reports, citing a source close to the production; ABC declined to comment. The hit show has its season premiere tomorrow night and Rycroft, 25, is expected to perform. Holly Madison (The Girls Next Door) has been rumored to be filling in for Jewel, who also bowed out with an injury.

Gilles Marini will reportedly lose one piece of clothing for every week that he is kept on Dancing With The Stars.

The pledge was made by the actor's professional dance partner Cheryl Burke, who has triumphed in the US show twice before.

She told People: "Every week we advance, he will lose one piece of clothing. He's the naked guy from the Sex And The City movie, and people know he has a great body. So he can pull it off."

While Burke hopes the weekly strip tease will encourage the US audience to vote for the French actor, who played Samantha Jones's beachside neighbour, Marini said he will "do whatever it takes". "Cheryl is the boss," he added.

That should keep the votes coming in

Denise Richards has become the second celebrity to be voted off this year's Dancing With The Stars.

Despite earning a higher judges' score than Steve Wozniak and Steve-O, the former Bond girl found herself in the dance-off with Playboy model Holly Madison after scoring just 16 out of 30 for her samba.

Criticising her performance, judge Bruno Tonioli had said: "That was so flat - we are going backwards. Really, nothing worked for you tonight. It went wrong so many times."

Performing her dance for the second time with partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy, Richards managed to bump her judges' score by four points but lost out to Madison, who raised her own score by one point to 18, in the viewers' votes.

Speaking after her elimination, the actress said: "My daughters love my dancing. It's been fun, I'm a huge fan of the show and I will continue to be so, and it's fun being on the other side."

This week's show saw Jackass star Steve-O register the second lowest score in the programme's history, while actor Gilles Marini, Bachelor star Melissa Rycroft and Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson became the first three contestants to tie for top score.

Next week, two celebrities will be eliminated after performing either the Argentine tango or the Lindy Hop.

A man vowing to be with Shawn Johnson "no matter what" was arrested as he tried to enter the Dancing with the Stars studio, said police, who later found two guns in his car.

Robert O'Ryan, 34, was detained by security at the CBS Studios lot, where Dancing tapes, Monday afternoon. Police later found "a loaded .45 handgun, a loaded shotgun, and materials classically used for kidnapping including duct tape, zip ties [and] a map" in O'Ryan's car, the LAPD said in a statement.

Johnson's mother, Teri, received a temporary restraining order protecting Johnson, 17, herself and Johnson's father, Doug, on Wednesday. Teri Johnson also sought protection for her daughter's Dancing partner, Mark Ballas, but it was not granted.

According to Teri Johnson's petition, O'Ryan permanently left his home in Florida to join Johnson on the West Coast. "He packed all his belongings, permanently left Florida to drive across the country because he believes the petitioner is speaking to him personally through the television and via ESP and that he will be with her no matter what," the petition said.

Johnson "is in fear of her life, she is extremely upset by this incident and her entire family and those around her are all extremely concerned and fearful that the Respondent [O'Ryan] might try to kidnap her or harm her in an effort to make good on his statements," the documents said.

O'Ryan was booked on a charge of illegal possession of a firearm and was being held in lieu of $35,000 bail.

"The matter has been turned over to the Los Angeles Police Department and the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office," Johnson's rep said in a statement to TVGuide.com. "It is currently an ongoing investigation and we are confident that it will be handled appropriately by all involved."

Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak has revealed that his Dancing With The Stars partner Karina Smirnoff has asked him to give her away at her upcoming wedding.

Smirnoff, who previously dated former Dancing partner Mario Lopez, announced her engagement to fellow professional dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy last year.

"She said I could walk her down the aisle and it touched my heart," Wozniak told The Insider.

Speaking to Us Weekly, Smirnoff added: "He's a little out of his element but has the biggest personality you'll ever meet. He's super funny and super charming."

Discussing her impending nuptials, she previously said: "There's so many family members that have a say that we've got to try to make sure that everyone will be happy. But we think it will be sometime before the end of this year. So, not so long."

Chmerkovskiy, who was partnered with Denise Richards, was voted off the competition last week, while Wozniak and Smirnoff managed to avoid the dance-off despite having the second lowest score in the show's history.

A man has pleaded not guilty to stalking Dancing With The Stars contestant Shawn Johnson, following his arrest for allegedly trying to break onto the set of the ABC show.

Appearing at LA's Superior Court yesterday, Robert O'Ryan denied charges of stalking and carrying loaded firearms after trying to jump a security fence in order to meet the Olympic gymnast on Tuesday.

Police later claimed to have found a loaded shotgun and loaded handgun in his car, alongside love letters, clippings, information on the star and duct tape.

O'Ryan, 34, was charged with one felony count of stalking and two misdemeanour counts of carrying loaded guns in a vehicle. His bail was raised from $35,000 to $200,000 at the request of the prosecutors.

A trial date has been set for April 27, and if convicted he could face up to four years in prison.

Earlier this week, Johnson's parents secured a restraining order against O'Ryan after claiming that their 17-year-old daughter was "in fear for her life".

Steve-O has become the sixth celebrity contestant to be voted off this year's Dancing With The Stars.

The Jackass star had received the lowest score of the previous night, earning just 16 out of a possible 30 points for his rumba, and found himself in the bottom two alongside rodeo champion Ty Murray.

Criticising his performance, judge Len Goodman had said: "You can't confuse movement with dancing. There was no hip action, no footwork and it was no good. I can't be kind - it was no good."

Steve-O was eventually given the boot from the competition after host Tom Bergeron revealed that there would be no dance-off this week.

Speaking to OK! after his elimination, he said: "I got an opportunity for growth, I made some mistakes, I overcame obstacles and I learned that I’m no darn good at dancing!

"I had no idea that my nerves were going to be an issue. Over the course of these last six weeks, I went from being such a nervous wreck to really loosening up. I really overcame that."

Next week, the remaining celebrities will have to design their professional partner's costumes, while also attempting an unlearned dance from the previous six weeks and a 1960s group dance.

Len Goodman has said that he would love to see Simon Cowell and the other American Idol panellists appear on Dancing With The Stars

Speaking at a celebrity cricket match in Los Angeles, the judge suggested that Cowell and his colleagues take to the dancefloor on his show, PA reports.

Goodman said: "In America I'd like the judges from American Idol - I'd like Simon and those guys to come on to the dance show, and us judges on Dancing With The Stars to do the singing.

"I'm terrible [at singing], but I'm sure Simon's not much of a dancer either so it wouldn't matter."

I think Simon has got enough on his plate without adding to his workload. But Len could replace Dannii Minogue on X Factor

The finalists for this year's Dancing With The Stars competition have been revealed after Ty Murray became the tenth celebrity to exit the ABC contest.

Despite winning over the public to reach the semi-finals, the rodeo champion was given the boot in last night's results show after failing to impress with his samba and Viennese waltz, which received the lowest scores of the night.

Speaking to OK! following his elimination, he said: "Both me and [partner] Chelsie felt like we had an army of people behind us, cheering us on.

"That’s your motivation to keep working at it. I’m not going to lie - I’m tired of learning dances. I’m so glad I don’t have to go learn two more for next week. I really am."

Murray's exit means that next week's live final will see actor Gilles Marini, Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson and reality star Melissa Rycroft competing to take home the coveted glitter ball trophy.

'Dancing' Week 10: What the judges said

Semi-finals week on the eighth season of Dancing With The Stars saw the remaining four celebrities performing one unlearned ballroom dance and one unlearned Latin routine from the first six weeks of the competition.

Here's what the judges had to say:

The Ballroom Round:

Melissa Rycroft and Tony- Quick Step

Len: "I thought it had great musicality and I loved the phrasing with the music. Your feet are much improved and I thought the whole thing was a delight. It was just gorgeous." (10)

Bruno: "Well, I'm glad the chiropodist chief is happy! It was good, very, very good, but this is the semi-final and for me it wasn't as exhilarating and crispy and zingy as it could have been. I'm not saying it was bad, but it didn't drag me away and to get to the final, I want that quality." (9)

Carrie-Ann: "I'm going to agree with Bruno - it was very nice and very pretty and you're a beautiful dancer, but I don't think it's connected to your soul. You are doing really beautiful movements, but it doesn't give you joy - I don't see you beaming and it doesn't look fun all the time, and there was a little bit of space in the hold." (9)

Total: 28

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Gilles Marini and Cheryl - Waltz

Bruno: "Now, that is how you start a race for the final! You looked like a matinee idol out there - soft of touch, strong pulling power, irresistibly romantic. Unbelievable, beautiful." (10)

Carrie-Ann: "People watch ballroom dancing because it takes them away into a land of fantasy and that was breathtaking and it took us all right in there. Beautiful choreography, subtle, sweet, perfection." (10)

Len: "I'm giving you a sitting down standing ovation." (10)

Total: 30

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Shawn Johnson and Mark - Tango

Carrie-Ann: "You are our youngest competitor ever, so sometimes I worry if you will be able to deliver the emotional content - but I'm silly because you delivered! The lifts were incredible, the passion and you're so connected to your movement. The focus is incredible and 'precision' is your middle name, sister!" (10)

Len: "This is the most fantastic semi-final. You came out with maturity I wasn't expecting. It had an intensity about it, I loved the hooks of the legs and honestly, without a doubt, for me it was your best performance." (10)

Bruno: "What we have here is Catherine Zeta Shawn! It was like watching the murderer's tango in Chicago - 'He had it coming! He had it coming!' You have got it coming big time, honey!" (10)

Total: 30

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ty Murray and Chelsie - Viennese Waltz

Len: "I don't think anyone has worked harder, no-one has tried more than you throughout this series to become a dancer. They say the harder you work, the better a dancer you become. I know there were a couple of little issues throughout your performance but overall, I thought it was fabulous." (9)

Bruno: "We like you and I do understand why America loves you, but in the semi-final the Viennese waltz should be smooth and effortless - this wasn't." (8)

Carrie-Ann: "What I love about you is the way you get the whole room generating support for you, but I do have to say that tonight you struggled. It wasn't your best dance, you were kind of wobbling a little bit on the turns." (8)

Total: 25

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Latin Round:

Melissa Rycroft and Tony - Cha Cha Cha

Bruno: "I like my cha cha full thrust and full on, and at moments you were sensational in this routine, but at times you don't sustain that energy. If you manage to sustain that all the way through the dance you could win this. But, you have to keep at that level, not go in and out." (9)

Carrie-Ann: "Thank you for taking my correction from the last dance, that was much more emotional and you were more attached to the dance, but I agree with Bruno. What I saw was a difference in the sizes of your steps - it was like you couldn't find how big you wanted your footwork to be." (9)

Len: "I liked it but not as much as I was hoping to. It was not to the standard of your samba. In places it was a little bit lacklustre. But, I liked it and you can never dance badly whatever you do, because you're just a really good dancer." (9)

Total: 27

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Gilles Marini and Cheryl - Salsa

Carrie-Ann: "That was Gilles Marini at his best! That is the dance that we know you could bring to the finals. I want to see you here next week." (10)

Len: "I am almost speechless... I wish I had an 11 paddle." (10)

Bruno: "Ladies and gentlemen, Lil' Kim is alive and well and she is hiding in your pants! Bionic booty number two! Carrie-Ann is absolutely right, you deserve to be in the final." (10)

Total: 30

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Shawn Johnson and Mark - Jive

Len: "I thought that was fast, I liked the feel of the dance and it was fun. But, for me there was too much messing about dancing going on. I would have liked to have seen a little bit more traditional jive throughout the performance and a little less slapstick." (8)

Bruno: "I like it when you go wild! You threw it all out and that was a very strong performance. Yes, sometimes it looked a bit more like a lindy hop than a jive, but you sold it 110%" (9)

Carrie-Ann: "You proved you've come so far in your performance skills, but I felt it lost a little steam and it got a little heavier towards the end and a little like almost going through mud, but it was still a really wonderful performance." (9)

Total: 26

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ty Murray and Chelsie - Samba

Bruno: "You have got resilience and determination and you threw everything but the kitchen sink into that samba. At times, you looked like you were dancing on a tightrope and just about to fall off: 'I'm going to get through this if it kills me!' You lost your footing at the corner, but a brave, brave effort." (8)

Carrie-Ann: "I vote you the most valuable player of season 8 and that's because your hard work and determination reminds people that you can go places that you never dreamed." (8)

Len: "In the ballroom dances you are Arthur Murray, but in the Latin dances you are Murray in a hurry! It's all too quick, a bit hectic and you go wrong. I know you have nerves, but I have to say Chelsie, you have done a fantastic job." (7)

Rodeo star Ty Murray has missed out on a place in the final of 'Dancing with the Stars'.

The Associated Press reports that Murray, the husband of singer Jewel, and his professional partner Chelsie Hightower had scored the lowest points from the judges on this week's show, 48 out of 60.

Praising Murray, head judge Len Goodman said: "If the others have climbed hills, you've climbed mountains. With that dedication and work ethic, you've been a credit to everyone on the show."

Dancing With The Stars contestant Gilles Marini has revealed that he has landed a role on Brothers & Sisters.

The actor, who will compete in next week's live final, told OK! magazine that he is looking forward to starting work on the ABC drama.

However, he refused to give any details about his "secret role", claiming only that it will be "very interesting... it's going to be like, 'Oh my God'. It's going to be great".

The French-born star shot to fame playing Samantha Jones's neighbour in Sex And The City: The Movie and recently admitted that he would jump at the chance to reprise the role for the sequel.

His other screen outings include turns on Nip/Tuck, Ugly Betty and Dirty Sexy Money.

Julianne Hough has clarified her remarks about leaving Dancing With The Stars, insisting that she will be returning in the future.

The professional dancer had previously announced that she would be exiting the ABC show at the end of the current season in order to concentrate on her country music career.

However, speaking to People, she insisted that it is only a temporary break, saying: "I am appreciative to be [able to] focus on my other career paths like touring in support of my album and recording my next one.

"I look forward to returning to Dancing With The Stars in early 2010."

The programme's executive producer Conrad Green added that he was happy for Hough to "take a breather", explaining: "It's a really intensive show so we welcome our dancers the opportunity to take a break.

"It doesn’t damage the show to have her pursue her music. What’s lovely is she’s committed to the show and she wanted to get that message out there that she’ll be back."

Hough and dancing partner Chuck Wicks were the eighth couple to be voted off this year's competition.

Shawn Johnson & Mark Ballas Winners!

Shawn Johnson has been crowned this season's winner of Dancing With The Stars.

The Olympic gymnast, 17, and professional partner Mark Ballas beat competition from actor Gilles Marini and reality star Melissa Rycroft to take home the mirrorball trophy during last night's show.

Speaking after the results, she said: "This has been the most amazing experience ever. I've grown so much. Thank you... This means the world to me. I can officially say I'm a dancer, and that's amazing to me."

Johnson won on viewers' votes, with host Tom Bergeron explaining that just 1% separated her from second-placed Marini. She had tied with the actor on points following Monday evening's performance, with each of the three finalists also scoring a perfect 30 for their results show dance.

Judge Len Goodman said: "This has been without a doubt the best season ever. We've got the three best dancers here in the final."

Johnson is the youngest competitor and the third Olympian to win the competition, following the success of ice-skaters Kristi Yamaguchi and Apolo Anton Ohno in the sixth and fourth seasons respectively.

Season eight's Dancing With The Stars final saw Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson, actor Gilles Marini and reality contestant Melissa Rycroft battling it out to win the coveted glitter ball trophy.

The contestants were first teamed together in a paso doble faceoff, where they were marked on their individual contribution, before attempting to impress the panel with a freestyle dance routine of their choice.

Here's what the judges had to say:

The Paso Doble Faceoff:

Shawn Johnson and Mark

Len: "Last time, I said that the routine was not really exciting for me, but this was full of excitement and energy. I sometimes think you just lowered your chin occasionally, but overall I thought you did a great job." (9)

Bruno: "You are always strong, always a great technician and you are like a serial killer! You will turn into Dexter if you go on like that!" (10)

Carrie Ann: "Shawn, you are so incredible and every movement you hit is perfection, but because you are much younger there wasn't as much of an emotional commitment compared to Gilles and I can see that next to each other, but it was beautiful." (9)

Total: 28

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Melissa Rycroft and Tony

Len: "Last time, I said your paso doble was riddled with problems. There was a slight mistake, but not anything like the last time. It was far more convincing." (9)

Bruno: "Your confidence has grown leaps and bounds, you have never looked more beautiful and you are a bit of a drama queen, which I love!" (10)

Carrie-Ann: "I've been calling you out on the soul attachment, but it was there, you nailed it, you were hitting it hard and congratulations. I'm so proud of you." (10)

Total: 29

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Gilles Marini and Cheryl

Len: "I said it was hectic the last time, but this wasn't hectic. It was full on, it had intensity and you did a great job." (10)

Bruno: "You are a leading man, self-assured, strong and fabulous." (10)

Carrie Ann: "I always expect perfection from you in a Latin dance and once again, there it was!" (10)

Total: 30

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Freestyle Round:

Shawn Johnson and Mark

Bruno: "I'm telling you one thing kid, you are going for gold! This truly was an explosive performance bursting with creativity! The speed, the synchronicity you kept, in spite of all those incredible tricks you did and you performed it, you sold it! Marvellous." (10)

Carrie Ann: "You're so adorable! What is so difficult about the freestyle is that you have to live up to everybody's expectations, creatively, energetically and performance-wise. That was exactly what I wanted to see! Great performance, beautifully energetic and precise, all of the above!" (10)

Len: "I loved the jive elements at the start, I loved the fun of it, the speed, the precision. I loved it." (10)

Total: 30

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Melissa Rycroft and Tony

Carrie Ann: "I have to say right off the bat, I love the new attitude you have going on, you are definitely attacking, you are in charge and I can feel that you want to win and it's committed. But, something about the choreography felt a bit disjointed. It felt like it was from lift to lift. I would have loved to see you go from movement to movement because you are such an amazing dancer, but still great job and nice performance." (9)

Len: "You've shown your versatility as a dancer, you can perform all styles and I don't get it - it was not my cup of tea. You are such an elegant dancer, you have been ballet trained but you went for the cheerleader, sort of hip-hop stuff which is not my cup of tea." (9)

Bruno: "Well, I thought I would never see the running man again and you managed to put it back there! It was a question of choice, the lifts were good but Carrie Ann is right, sometimes it was disjointed going from the funky section to the lifts. It wasn't as perfect as we would have liked to have seen for a final dance." (9)

Total: 27

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Gilles Marini and Cheryl

Len: "It was slick, it was pacy and I loved the slow section on the stage. I think this is going to prove that you are a real dancer." (10)

Bruno: "Gilles is going retro! Fun, great, great performance, but I have to say that I wanted a little bit more dancing from you. The performance was great - I'm not saying it wasn't good, it was fantastic - but because of what I've seen from you before, I was expecting a little bit more." (9)

Carrie Ann: "I'm going to agree with Bruno. I found it an odd choice because Flashdance is about the female dancer - you make a great Alex, but it was an odd choice. You are a phenomenal dancer and I would have loved to see so much more from you, and what's great is that the audience says so too." (9)
