POLICEWOMAN Donna Dingle flees the village after catching her husband Marlon in the arms of his cousin.
Donna is dumbstruck when she walks in on the lanky chef (Mark Charnock, 40) passionately kissing fiery Chas (Lucy Pargeter, 31).
She leaves next week vowing to start a new life in Newcastle with Ross Kirk (Sam Anderson, 25), the man she had an affair with.
The move comes after Verity Rushworth revealed her decision to quit the role after 10 years.
Verity, 23, will take to the stage in the West End hit Hairspray.
Speaking about her decision to leave, Verity said: “I think I am entitled to a break.
“I don’t want to look back and have only done one job all my life.
“Being an actress means you try to be as many different characters as you can.”
Verity said her heart will always be with the show that made her one of soapland’s sexiest stars.
