anyone watching this? the obstacle courses look so fun lol i really wanna go on there! and its pretty funny watching the people who really cant do it!
I love it - its like a Takeshi's Castle in a way. Trashy telly, but so funny, especially the four balls at the end - I'm amazed the number of different positions the human body can bend to without breaking your back :rotfl:

I think they mentioned that some one had to drop out of the remainder of the course cos of a pulled ligament in the knee or did something to their shoulder or back ,, so yea they admit they do get hurt,,
My partner and I first saw the show in the USA,, we thought it was WILD,, now its here on BBC I really like the show i giggle all the time ........Love it when they get sooooooooooooo muddddddddy....... and fall in the water and come up squeaky clean again( well almost )

cant believe the person that won yesterday didnt fall off at all in the final, i think hes the only person whos done that. i also thought 2 of the people were going to get across the balls as they did quite well. looks like someone might get across them next week, as it showed someone on the 4th ball, i hope they do, although itll ruin my theory that its impossible lol!

Shiv normally my guy does not watch it, but lately hes been sneaking a look and giggling too, he says nooooo they are not gonna get over those big balls etc,,, when that lil gal frog leaped over all 4 both us us were like:eek: WOW,,
I dunno why people laugh when people get hurt, but we seem to do it tho..
I am sure there have been some really NASTY injuries on that show.. the shows insurance probably have people to sign a waiver they will not hold the show responsible for any injuries they recieve???????:hmm: :searchme:
I think that it is an awful show....but I still watch it, go figure!

It is cruel to laugh when contestants hurt themselves while bouncing over those balls but it's so funny. whoever thought of that idea is not right in the head.
I bet it was Richard hammond who though of it.. it makes me laugh every week :lol:

They should do a celebrity version for comic relief. Get the Top Gear guys over it.
I have never seen this yet but reading this thread has made me determined to catch it next time.

The BBC has announced that it has recommissioned Total Wipeout for two new series, each of which will include two celebrity specials.
The special episodes will see stars complete on an extreme obstacle course in Argentina. A brand new 'Champion Of Champions' edition will also air
The show, presented by Richard Hammond, debuted in the UK earlier this year.
"It’s a pleasure to announce that we’ve secured another two series of Total Wipeout," said BBC controller of entertainment commissioning Mark Linsey.
"The show was a huge hit with our audience and has cemented itself as a key part of our Saturday night entertainment line-up, and further highlights our commitment to offer viewers a varied portfolio of family entertainment shows throughout the year."
The second series is due to premiere this summer

I watched it for the first time tonight and found the contestants attempting the challenges really amusing. However, I don't find Richard Hammond's comments that funny. I cringed at some of his commentary :o it just seems to me that he tries too hard to be comical and it isn't very natural.
A great way to pass the hour though. I thought Kelly did very well.
What was with the VTs of the final three all saying "how much they want this" - I assumed it was a mickey take of all the other shows that do it, or was it actually a serious segment of the show?

Ooo this is gonna be really good :)
Anyone know when it will be on?
Saturday 2 January
Time to be confirmed BBC ONE
Richard Hammond returns for a second Total Wipeout Celebrity Special, featuring the world's most ridiculous obstacle course.
Ten more well-known stars swap the red carpet for red faces as they battle foam and mud in order to clinch a cash prize for a charity of their choice.
There's no special VIP treatment as the celebrities, including Olympic champion Sally Gunnell, actor Chris Parker, comedian and presenter Kirsten O'Brien and children's TV duo Sam Nixon and Mark Rhodes, belly flop their way towards the final Total Wipeout zone.
Loose Women's Andrea McLean gives it her all on the qualifier and comic Joe Pasquale puts in a commendable performance.
It's not all plain sailing, though, with the course asking some big questions of the celebrities – questions such as will TV presenter Dominic Littlewood "get done" by the dizzy dummies? Will model Danielle Lloyd cope in the mud bath on the sucker punch? And, most importantly, can comedy actress Cleo Rocos survive the day with her make-up and hairstyle intact?
Amanda Byram is on hand once again to offer her blend of wit and sarcasm ringside, as these 10 famous faces make their way through the course – all in the hope of winning the title of Total Wipeout Celebrity Champion.

Ooo yay im looking forward to this now :D

The BBC has commissioned two new series of Total Wipeout.
The fourth and fifth runs will feature two celebrity specials each and both series will climax with an episode involving previous champions.
Meanwhile, the fifth series of the show will introduce a new course to test the contestants in diifferent ways.
The BBC's entertainment editor Mirella Breda said: "Total Wipeout has firmly established itself as part of BBC One's Saturday entertainment family. We are thrilled that it is loved by viewers of all ages and it is a pleasure to have recommissioned the show for a further two series.
"Be prepared for more comedy moments as the British public take on the mighty red balls one more time."
Total Wipeout, which is filmed in Argentina, is hosted by Richard Hammond and Amanda Byram.
