Val (Charlie Hardwick) schemes to throw Paul (Mathew Bose) a divorce party to cheer him up. However, Rodney (Patrick Mower) fumes at the tackiness of the occasion and worries that Paul will be upset. Elsewhere in the village Lily (Anne Charleston) is forced to change her plans to engineer a meeting between Paul and Jonny when Paul asks to meet her in the pub. She stations Leyla (Rokhsaneh Ghawam-Shahidi) in the café to look out for Jonny, but is unaware of the significance when Patricia (Vicki Michelle) arrives instead. Back at the Woolpack, Paul enters in horror as he’s greeted by a troupe of male dancers. Rodney anticipates Paul’s reaction all too well as he berates his mother. Paul is gutted when Patricia arrives at his divorce party and relays that Jonny left for Australia a few days ago. Is it too late for Paul to salvage his marriage?

Meanwhile, Jimmy (Nick Miles) and Carl (Tom Lister) are buoyant when they receive semi-positive feedback from old business contacts. However, when Scarlett (Kelsey-Beth Crossley) sends a quotation to a client using the old King & Sons logo Carl is furious as it puts the client off. Jimmy is torn when Carl insists that they need to re-brand losing the name King from their new company name in order to win new customers. Jimmy is torn between his loyalties to his family heritage and his responsibilities to make a new start. Will Jimmy side with Carl or stand his ground?

Elsewhere, Marlon (Mark Charnock) goes home and when Donna (Verity Rushworth) bursts into tears, his cold exterior is shattered. Donna begs Marlon to give her another chance but he is unable to cope with making a decision and regrets he can’t give her an answer yet. Can Marlon find it in his heart to forgive Donna?

Eli (Joseph Gilgun) tells Marlon (Mark Charnock) that Donna (Verity Rushworth) deserves a second chance since she forgave him over the bungled burglary. Marlon tells Donna he is willing to give their marriage another go as long as she promises to be honest with him and pretend that Ross (Samuel Anderson) no longer exists. As a happy Marlon heads to work Donna receives a visitation letter from Ross. Unbeknownst to Marlon, Donna visits Ross in prison and he asks her to visit Jasmine (Jenna-Louise Coleman) and find out why she lied to the police.

Donna returns to the village and notices an emotional exchange between Jasmine and Ashley (John Middleton). Despite harbouring doubts over whether Jasmine has the capacity to lie to the police Donna questions Jasmine. When Donna mentions that Ross could face life in prison Jasmine begins to crack. However, Debbie (Charley Webb) returns to the house in the nick of time and Donna is stunned to sense that she and Jasmine are not only hiding something, but Debbie is actively warning her off. Will Donna dig deeper and risk ruining her reconciliation with Marlon?

The morning after the night before, Val (Charlie Hardwick) has a mountain to climb in order to build bridges with Paul (Mathew Bose). While many of Val’s words of comfort only serve to dig her hole deeper, Lily (Anne Charleston) is able to make amends with Paul. As he pours his heart out over Jonny’s decision, Lily suggests he go and visit him. Despite Paul arguing that Jonny went away without telling him, Lily is determined to act. Meanwhile, Val refuses to give up on her son too and invites Patricia (Vicki Michelle) over. After apologising she’s shocked when Patricia admits that Jonny is still in love with Paul. When Paul returns Patricia hands him Jonny’s address in Australia. Later, Lily gives Paul some money to buy a ticket to Sydney so he can chase Jonny. Will Paul leave Emmerdale in search of love?

Paul (Mathew Bose) is in a quandary over whether to go in search of Jonny. Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy) advises him to try as he’ll never know otherwise whether it could work. In the Woolpack, Lily (Anne Charleston) and Leyla (Rokhsaneh Ghawam-Shahidi) are talking about Paul’s potential trip but neither realise Val (Charlie Hardwick) has overheard. She immediately goes to find Rodney (Patrick Mower) and he’s shocked to realise that nobody can find Paul. While Val elaborately complains she’s lost her son, Rodney finds him at Home Farm helping Katie (Sammy Winward). Telling him that Val knows, Paul goes to the pub for a showdown. When Rodney defends Paul’s decision to go Val slams his fair-weather parenting. Rodney gives Paul his blessing and leaves. A desperate Val lies to Paul that Rodney has a serious heart condition to make him stay. Will Paul be convinced by his mother’s black lie?

Meanwhile, Debbie (Charley Webb) is furious when she discovers that Jasmine (Jenna-Louise Coleman) is planning to follow Ashley (John Middleton) and Laurel to their new home in Leeds. She warns Jasmine that living with a vicar can’t wipe her slate clean, but angrily tells her friend to go if she wants to keep running all her life. Will Debbie allow Jasmine to leave her in the lurch?

Also, Lisa (Jane Cox) accuses Aaron (Danny Miller) of stealing from the family pot but he brushes her off with his cocky attitude. As Lisa is about to question Chas (Lucy Pargeter) she owns up to taking the money herself, insisting it was a loan. Lisa believes she’s covering for Aaron. Her theory is proved right when, unbeknownst to the other Dingles, Chas pays back the money and then quizzes Aaron about that he did with it. As Aaron continues to make life hard for his mother Chas breaks down and bolts upstairs leaving him perturbed. Will Chas ever make progress with her bad boy son?

As the Thomases make their final arrangements to leave, the Bishop (Peter Cartwright) is seen inviting an unknown man and woman into the Church. The gossip machine is soon in full swing as Katie (Sammy Winward) mentions that she’s met the new owners of Home Farm and the other villagers speculate whether the Church has been the couple’s second purchase. After sweeping into the village on horseback Mark (Maxwell Caulfield) and Natasha (Amanda Donohoe) Wylde interrupt the Thomases leaving party and brashly order a round of champagne.

As the villagers become more irate the Wyldes try reason and then wit to calm the baying mob but the Woolpack soon rings with a chorus of boos. Determined to silence the unruly regulars Natasha explains her intentions: they bought Home Farm to live in; they bought the Church to give back to the community. The villagers are joyous and full of praise for the Wyldes and as Natasha charms her new neighbours, Mark is disgruntled as it’s clear that Natasha has made the Church arrangements up on the spot. Afterwards, the Wyldes bask at Home Farm confident that they have the villagers eating from the palms of their hands.

Meanwhile, Rodney (Patrick Mower) is bemused when Paul (Mathew Bose) refers to the supposed terminal illness that Val (Charlie Hardwick) has invented. Later, Paul is worried when Rodney answers the door out of breath, only to discover that his father’s quickened pulse is due to a keep-fit session. Covering herself, Val tells Paul that if he needs to think of an excuse to stay in the village as Rodney wouldn’t forgive himself for holding him back. Will Val’s lie last long enough to keep Paul in the village?

Elsewhere, Lisa (Jane Cox) is cautious when Aaron (Danny Miller) offers to take care of Belle (Eden Taylor-Draper) after school. Enjoying spending time with her, Aaron agrees to help with the dinner. When Belle points out that the sausages are about to burn Aaron tells her to take it easy and heads upstairs. Belle takes it upon herself to lift the heavy grill pan, just as Lisa and Chas (Lucy Pargeter) come in and Aaron receives the full brunt of Lisa’s frustration. Aaron reacts badly to the dressing down leaving Chas upset to once again find her son in the doghouse. Can Chas make the Dingles love Aaron too?

Aaron (Danny Miller) overhears Lisa (Jane Cox) telling the other Dingles about the Wyldes’ arrival at Home Farm and takes Belle (Eden Taylor-Draper) to ‘welcome’ them to the village. Stealing from the Wyldes removal van, Aaron is startled when Natasha (Amanda Donohoe) comes to tell the removal men off and he leaves Belle to get caught. Belle refuses to divulge the true perpetrator when questioned. A furious Natasha takes Belle to Lisa and demands her possessions are returned by lunch time. Despite Belle’s reluctance Lisa confronts a brash Aaron and fumes to discover his guilt. Enraged by his lack of remorse, Lisa kicks Aaron out. Vowing to stick by her son Chas (Lucy Pargeter) goes too, but can she raise her son alone?

Elsewhere, Mark (Maxwell Caulfield) begins to get his bearings at Home Farm but his and Natasha’s attempts to get settled in are hampered by incompetent removal men. After expressing complaints in the village, the Wyldes are stunned when various villagers including Rodney (Patrick Mower) and Betty (Paula Tilbrook) turn up to aid the unpacking and regale their new neighbours with the history of Home Farm. As more guests arrive, the Thomases officially meet their new landlords and eyebrows are raised when Natasha mentions they’ll be charging rent on the vicarage. When the chaos dies down Mark and Natasha reflect on the fun they’ll have integrating into the country lifestyle. Is Emmerdale ready for the new king and queen of the Dales?

Also, Lisa invites Marlon (Mark Charnock) and Donna (Verity Rushworth) to Zak’s birthday party but he’s unsure of the reception his wayward wife will receive. He tells Donna who feels it’s best they attend, before she shows him a letter calling her as a witness in Ross’ trial. Later, Marlon is forced to vigorously defend Donna’s reputation when she comes under fire from Shadrach (Andy Devine) and Zak (Steve Halliwell), but he lets slip about the surprise party at the same time. Although embarrassed Marlon insists that the Dingles make Donna feel welcome. Will the party go off with a bang

Im truly saddened that Donna continues to seek succour in that sleazball Ross with the unintelligable accent.

Stick with MARLON
