I think this is great. How come these songs never get to number one anymore. Christmas number ones used to be about christmas songs not the x-factor.
:cheer: And the lyrics are very cool as well :p its so true :)
I hope this spells the end of this Geraldine rubbish. I just dont get it, and don't find it funny at all. Peter Kaye is a comedy legend but this whole Pop Factor thing is just silly. He needs to work on a new stand up, or get a new Sitcom/sketch show going. Or better still a third series of Phoenix Nights! :D

Thank you, Bryan, I thought I was the only one thinking like you. I found the send-up he did originally quite funny but this race for the no. 1 position in the Christmas charts is ludicrous and makes a farce of what used to be lovely records for the festive season. And I would love a third series of PN :D

i was just about to say this myself!! if the alternative is x factor being number one again, yawn, then this or anything else can be number one as far as im concerned!!!

Lovely songs for the festive season. You mean like Bob the Builder or Mr Blobby like it used to be.
Christmas number one used to be known for quirky songs that would not usually get to number one now its just crap from fix factor.
No, I meant more like Cliff Richard and 'Mistletoe and Wine', 'When A Child Is Born' by Johnny Matthis and the Band Aid ones.
I still like it, I mean its taking the mic for a good reason!
Even before the x factor, when was the last time there was a proper xmas song at xmas, apart from the newest band aid?

i think its time to forget the competition for number one- who do you want to be xmas number 2? (the real number 1)
